not to be confused with the [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/569200/]1989 game of the same name[/url], this is an ftl clone with really nice graphics and music, though not as good as ben prunty's ftl soundtrack. same gameplay of jumping through nodes, encountering random events, fighting ships in pausable real-time combat, etc. unlike ftl, where you have to cross your fingers, do a rain dance and sacrifice a goat to maybe pull off a ship unlock through random happenings, here all you need is perseverance. leveling up over multiple runs unlocks more campaigns, still with randomized galaxies (4 total, 1 available in the beginning), starting ships, perks and difficulty settings. [b]less resource management and the exclusion of a pursuing threat and time limit[/b] are welcome changes in my book. random everything ♥♥♥♥♥ you over all time anyway, but at least [b]fuel and ammo are of no concern here and exploration is less limited and stressful[/b]. there are still cooldowns on weapons and gadgets but you're not just rushing through everything, though always pushing forward is possible if that's your preference. Basically a direct clone of FTL with higher graphics and a few twists here and there. I enjoyed FTL a ton and was looking for another option that got close to that style of game play and this matched. I don't think there are any new updates coming anymore for this title, but it's worth a purchase while on sale. *I encountered a single crash in 84 hours, but other than that, it was smooth gameplay with no frame lag or bugs*3 found this helpful
Unfortunately, the game has game-breaking bugs: often combat crashes and freezes, and your run is over. A real pity, otherwise a fun game.
Half-baked FTL knockoff. Disappointing. It has a couple new ideas but its way less polished then FTL and not really worth bothering with imo.
I really do not get the mixed reviews. If you love FTL you will love this. Fantastic game!
When I played the game, the ship was attacked so many times that the gameplay had to restart again because the ship blew up. I never managed to complete the mission at all. and that is an easy difficulty. That all makes it no fun to play for me.
