Captain The Runner

it’s actually kinda fun… don’t judge me idk why I downloaded this game, I just saw “runner” and clicked like a caveman. you basically just run, dodge stuff, and pray your reflexes don’t betray you after 2 minutes. simple life. first few runs I was like “ok this is easy” 10 minutes later I’m crashing into random objects like I owe them money. graphics are simple but kinda charming in a “my laptop from 2008 could run this while also mining bitcoin” way. is it repetitive? yeah. did I still say “one more run” like 15 times? also yeah. honestly solid if you just want to turn your brain off and pretend you’re good at gaming for 5 seconds. would I recommend? yes. will I uninstall it after 2 days? also yes.

What a bad game... You can literally stay in the middle lane on the first map and get every achievement except 2. You don't have to even dodge ANYTHING. Atleast 100% Achievement is easy to get but it doesn't even have cards. No effort put into this. How to get 100% Achievements in this: 1. Go to the "Space: VOID" level. Stay in the middle lane. Press the up arrow key whenever a car approaches. Die once you get the green star achievement. 2. Go to the Christmas level (click MORE at the bottom right of level select to get to it). Stay in the middle lane. Press the up arrow key whenever a car approaches (you can still do this when there are two in a row, just jump later). Die once you get the blue star achievement. Be careful not to jump over it. 3. Go to "The Old City" level. Get in the middle lane (between the two roads). Press Alt+Tab. Wait.

Captain The Runner is a template flip from Anamik Majumdar, who keeps reskinning the same lame GameMaker Studio game templates and re-releasing it on Steam with a few minor changes. The GameMaker Studio template he keeps re-releasing is just a basic retro pixel (couldn't he rip off a template with proper graphics??) 2D top down/platformer stealth/action game, although in this case he's managed to copy+paste someone elses "endless runner" template, while this is the first I've seen, I doubt it's the last based on the asset flipping pattern for this retro pixel garbage merchant. Endless retrostyle (NES) runner game with lots achievements. Most of achievements are very easy, but couple little difficult.

This is an automatic runner like most mobile games today. There are a few different maps. You move through 3 different lanes of traffic to collect points. You can jump. That is all there is to it. However, the graphics are bad. The screen seems to tear when switching lanes to the point of hurting your vision. When you hit something, there isnt a game over. You just go back to the main screen. This makes the game feel unfinished. Only played long enough to get all the achievements and got this game through a bundle with other games. Avoid at all cost.
