Cardfight!! Vanguard Dear Days

Possibly the worst card game AI I've ever played. AI was very much visibly given boosts to trigger rates at all times. Even worse when you add D-Skill into the calculation. Honestly, such a shame, because the Vanguard itself is fun, but the horrible hardcode of the AI is beyond playable. How do you code this and then think "Hmm, yeah, this is definitely the best type of accuracy and fun!" for a card game and slaps the atrocious price, before all the DLCs? If you like Vanguard, then sure, get this game, but maybe on a sale. If you're new? Start somewhere else. There are other starting points. I love Vanguard but I have to be honest, I can't really recommend this game. EDIT: ♥♥♥♥ the devs. DD1 and DD2 are both ass. They put 0 thoughts when making the AI. Trigger rate is utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ after I tested it multiple times over both games. I really wish I could give double negative reviews for how bad this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is. FuRyu more like ♥♥♥♥ You.

Actually missed playing Vanguard before Bushiroad made separate new rules apart from the Stride era and Gear Chronicles, which made my friends give up on this game because of how much they invested in their stride-focused decks CPU is challenging enough to learn the new rules, so good to learn the new mechanics or try out new deck archetypes you can't build in real life unless you want to spend money playing an actual deck. And at least this game's more fun than Yu-Gi-Oh! Cancer Duel meta. I can actually get sheet done with my plays in a match.

Great game for TTCG players and lovers of the Cardfight!! Vanguard anime series. I enjoy how even though there is an overall story arch and structure, you still have the option to choose the order in which you complete some of the battles. The chracaters you face are actually a challenge as well and not just an easy win every time. I love the ability to customise and build your own decks or that you can choose from a number deck recipies you unlock as you progress through the game. I do wish you were able to create your own custom character though. Overall a great game, a solid 8/10 and I absolutly recomend giving it a try.

Received this game as a gift from a friend while it was heavily discounted. Pricing system is awful - game is way too expensive when not on sale, especially since a lot of the content is locked behind DLC, which totals about £437.20 if you wanted to get all of it. I believe the sequel has the same issue. Other than that the game is fine enough, haven't encountered any problems so far. Some of the balancing against the CPU is a bit off but that can be countered with tuned decks or trying different strategies. Prior to playing this, I hadn't touched Vanguard for about 10 years or so which meant I wasn't up to speed on all the changes, however this game did a good job at getting me to understand the new rules, granted there weren't too many differences. I think the ride deck is a good inclusion because it means you don't have to worry about having a grade 1, 2 and 3 in your hand every turn. The overtrigger seems a bit silly in my opinion though, I know it's to try and recreate hype moments like in the manga/anime of turning the tides in your favour but unless you have a perfect guard or something lined up, it kind of kills the flow. It's not rewarding tactics or skill but luck…
