About Cardrunners
Enter the world of Cardrunners, a fast-paced roguelike card deck-building game that blends tactical grid-based combat with endless strategic possibilities. In this cyberpunk dystopia, revenge is a matter of wit, adaptability, and the right combination of cards and trinkets.
Take on the role of mercenaries, each with their own unique abilities and cards. A shared vendetta against Sky Corp—the monopolistic megacorporation that controls this fractured world. Will you master the grid, outsmart your enemies, and take your revenge on the system?
Cardrunners combines the thrill of deck-building with the tactical precision of grid-based combat. Build your deck by collecting powerful cards, each offering distinct abilities, synergies, and strategies. Equip trinkets to enhance your gameplay, unlocking unique passive effects or game-changing powers.
Fast-Paced Combat: React and adapt quickly in turn-based battles on a dynamic grid system.
Build and Adapt: Craft a winning strategy by collecting cards and upgrading your deck.
Tactical Depth: Manage positioning, and resource usage to outwit your foes.
Every run is procedurally generated, ensuring no two attempts are ever the same. Learn from your failures, refine your strategies, and climb closer to victory with each attempt.
Roguelike Progression: Every run is a fresh challenge, with procedurally generated encounters and rewards.
Unique Characters: Play as a roster of characters, each with their own backstory, specialized abilities and cards. United by their shared mission: revenge against Sky Corp.
Cyberpunk Aesthetic: Immerse yourself in a world of fully unique hand-drawn cards, trinkets and characters.
Cards and Trinkets: Build a deck from scratch every run, and discover trinkets that enhance or completely change your playstyle.

A nice little game, a bit on the simple side mechanically but it does what I think it sets out to do. It plays kinda like one of those puzzles where you have to move across a pattern without ever stepping in the same square more than once, except if it was a turnbased deckbuilder. The artstyle is really cool and the design of the enemies and player characters are really good. The 3 playable characters seem to have a surprisingly unique playstyle compared to one another, although you can pretty easily force a certain build every run in my admittedly limited experience with the game. Even without a tutorial I had no problems understanding how to play the game, and the tooltips did a good job of providing information, although there maybe could be a description on the card itself when picking it of what a buff or debuff does, instead of having to hover over the icon on a character that has the effect applied to it, and a little description that most buffs tick down one every move you make, but that is minor stuff. All in all i think a very competent title for the asking price and if you're into little puzzly games and deckbuilders I can only recommend it.5 found this helpful
