The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers. This "endless runner" style asset flip is free to play on NewGrounds, but the developer is running a scam by trying to charge gamers for a free game here on Steam. And as mentioned, the worst part is that this is an asset flip. The developer took Unity's [url=https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/systems/highroad-engine-73798]Highroad Engine[/url] and slapped on some stolen assets from the [url=https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/particles-effects/lowpoly-water-107563]LowPoly Water[/url] asset pack (trees etc). At no point did the person behind this scam credit the actual developers whose assets he stole and is trying to profit from, which is also a breach of the Unity Asset Store terms and conditions. I already left a review of the game on the Newgrounds page, but I wanted to add extra thoughts. First off the game is good, I like it. The graphics are nice, and the controls are excellent. One thing the game needs most is variety. There are 12 levels but only a few unique “types” or world designs. I feel like the game would work better with some more levels, put into a world progression type (Sort of like ClusterTruck). The level designs now are good but more variety would help the game with replay ability immensely. A smaller issue I have is with the star system. I feel it would be better if the stars had a set location in each level (perhaps even hidden off the track) rather than a random location each time. I already have been speedrunning this game for a little bit and that is its best attribute. With so many skips the game has many fun levels to speedrun. Balancing keeping the crates in the truck and getting to the goal is immense fun. Overall Cargo Truck Racer is fun and has a whole lot of potential for an amazing sequel!2 found this helpful
