Casting Whispers

Casting Whispers is an indie psychological Cosmic / Lovecraftian / Eldrich horror game in which your character explores an apartment building with weird inhabitants and otherworldly oddities. Most of the game is a walking simulator, with a couple of mild puzzles to solve near the end of the game. The game takes approximately 4 hours to complete, and there are 2 endings that I know of. + The game's atmosphere is extremely well done. Most of the game you are in an apartment complex with a storm raging outside. Just walking around and exploring was mostly fun. The graphics can be turned up very high if you have the PC for it. + The story was interesting and kept me invested till the end. Lots of twists near the end. + Excellent music, soundscapes, and voice acting throughout. -/+ The game starts off with an incredibly slow burn, about 30 minutes to an hour of walking before ever reaching anything interesting. The atmosphere was really nice however, I didn't mind it, some others might find it boring though. - The endgame final monster / creature was not interesting to look at, low budget. - The save points are too few and far in between, I lost about 30 minutes of gameplay …

Other than some minor performance issues and a building layout that makes me angry (looking at you stairs), very fun game with great eldritch vibes. Send Greg my regards.

Underrated game set in the 60's, so no modern nonsense. A great escape, with a well built, yet confined world to explore. Whilst I've played plenty of creepy games before, I loved the unique listening mechanic. Eavesdropping, or listening for clues. One of the few games I'd recommend playing with headphones. The game looks wonderful and you can peek through the windows and see an entire city has been painstakingly designed just for immersion's sake. It did however make my pc struggle a bit and had to nuke my graphics settings more than I would do with most of my other games. You can complete it in about 3 hours, but if you like exploring as I did, it'll take twice that time. A fair few little side quests and an alternate couple of endings, you're probably looking at 9 hours or so for full completion. A creepy and intriguing story that's well worth your time

VERY solid, competent horror experience for a studio's first project. There were a lot of great ideas in this game and the execution was better than I've come to expect from titles like this. There's a lot of great talent in the voice cast as well!

This game was a delight and the story kept me hooked the whole way through. The voice acting was fantastic, the atmosphere was solid, and I liked the eavesdropping mechanic.
