About Castles
Castles tells the story of the ambitious King Harold, whose greatest achievement will be the tower you are constructing. Players praise the game's creative match-3 concept with charming mechanics, but widespread complaints center on poor game balance and design issues: the grid fills too quickly with too many block types, random falling blocks frustrate players by ruining carefully planned moves, and the difficulty ramps up unfairly for a casual game. Additionally, technical problems plague the experience, including unresponsive controls, multiplayer setup issues limiting controller support, and the game hasn't been fixed despite being years old, leaving players frustrated and unlikely to return.
Good idea but.... 1) Controls are not responsive. 2) We were only able to setup 1 player using ps4 controller. Player 2 can only use keyboard 3) We were only able to play to level 3 in story mode. It was too hard especially for a casual game. We wanted this to work but it's just not worth the frustration.3 found this helpful
This game is so close to being good - but the bricks fall down on top of bricks you are moving too often, killing you, and although you always restart - it is in a random corner. This could legitimately be one of the most fun match-3 concepts I've played in a long time, but every time I am close to finishing a triad and a completely random brick falls, ruining my last few minutes of moves and killing me in the process it just adds to the frustration. Sadly, this game is over 5 years old, so I don't expect that it will ever be fixed.. which is a real bummer given how fun it is otherwise - and yet I'm sure I'll never touch it again.2 found this helpful

It's a shame that one simple mistake really hampers a game that starts off with the potential to be pretty fun. Some of the mechanics are quite charming, such as the ability to destroy blocks by positioning them under one of the new blocks about to fall into the grid. However, the player quickly discovers that the developer got something very fundamental very wrong. Simply put, the game gradually introduces too many different types of blocks to accommodate so small a grid. The result is that not only does the grid fill up fast, it fills up with too many different types of blocks to give the player a fair opportunity to make matches. While this doesn't make the game impossible, it does make it frustrating, and most players will feel that Castles is not worth the trouble.1 found this helpful
I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of y…1 found this helpful
