MOST OF THE CATS ARE SIMPLY UNRECOGNIZABLE
I love a great challenge in my cat-clicking adventures, but I hate using hints, and there's no way anyone can find some of these cats without using multiple hints ...or spamming the heck out of the scene.   Some of the cats are easy to spot because they are full-sized cats, while others are just cat heads ...and then there's the very obscure pixelated cats that are just 2 ears poking out from behind something.    In the first scene, I literally had to start spamming dark windows, etc., because zooming in just makes the pixels bigger, and it became impossible to find cats any other way ...what's the fun in that?   I ended up having to use 8-10 Hints (and had to wait 60 seconds for it to recharge) on all 4 levels just to complete the game. When the hint pointed me to a missed cat, I literally stared at most of them because they certainly didn't look like a cat ...definitely not a game worthy of $3.99!    See my reviews for Big Fish Games -Pennmom36 -Top Reviewer- HERE

MY REVIEWS
[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44227659…

I read the negative reviews but bought the game anyway (on discount), because I really liked the pixel artwork. The negative reviews are accurate, but the game is fun and playable as long as you know what you're getting yourself into. As alluded to in the name of the game, some of the cats are highly pixelated, so you'll have to zoom in and do a bit of pixel hunting. It is challenging but it makes it all the more satisfying when you're able to spot it. And when I've given up, I zoom out and enjoy the artwork while waiting one minute for the hint button to cool down. Here are some examples that made people unhappy. If you can spot the cat in these images, you might enjoy this game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3763413036 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3763413695

This is a cute pixelated hidden cat finder game. I will say that some of the cats are REALLY hard to see. Boy they are hidden good! It can be a matter of like one rgb shade off so its pretty close! Definitely a good challenge while watching a show or something. There's only 6 maps but they are good!

The art is super lovely but I have to admit it's not very good as a hidden cat game. A lot of negative reviews say the same thing but don't really explain in detail so I'm going to try and express my own opinion. Overall, Cats in Pixels doesn't have a strong ruleset for what a "hidden cat" can look like, sometimes its a very obvious full-body, shaded cat or just the ears sticking out behind things, that makes sense. However, eventually you get into tiny minimalist cats, some only 7 pixels tall, that are intentionally coloured to look like part of the pixel art itself. As a design language, it's extremely frustrating for the player not knowing if your final cats are one or the other. Emotionally, I like playing hidden cat games to feel like I'm finding cute mischievous kitties, ones that feel unique and clearly defined. So, when the level inevitably becomes pixel hunting for these featureless, cat-shaped pixel blobs copy and pasted with a small value shift so it's barely different from the colour behind it, the game loses it's feeling of enjoyment and whimsy. Additionally, it's not very accessible. If your screen settings are a little different in any way you probably won't be abl…

I love this game! The artwork looks great, the music is very soothing, and the game is very fun and relaxing to play. Also, I really like the cute animations that some of the cats do when you find them. I definitely recommend this game!

Fun game with nice pixel art. Some of the cats can be pretty tough to spot, but overall I enjoyed it.
