After selecting one of the characters, each with a slight perk that doesn't make much of a difference, you begin your journey by visiting hair salons and making customers happy. Stages are selected from a map where you can freely drive a bus, but you don't have much choice since stages unlock in a fixed order. Characters are never locked, so you can switch between them before every stage, and you unlock new ones by completing certain stages. The gameplay revolves around time management, meaning you have to run around and complete tasks before time runs out. Every stage has a time limit, and you need to earn at least the minimum required amount of money by serving customers to complete it. If you want to perfect a stage, you'll need to earn all three stars, although this isn't required. Every customer you serve also contributes to your experience bar, which fills up after completing stages and eventually levels up your character. Leveling up slightly improves the effectiveness of that character's perk, and unlocks an active skill. Since each character has to be leveled up separately, it's a good idea to stick with one from start to finish. Completing stages also rewards you with m…

There are many games copying the Overcooked formula. This one manages to strike gold, borrowing the best elements from Overcooked (throwing items, dashing) and adding its own twists (throwing customers, raising customer patience, character abilities and stamina) to create something familiar, unique, and fun. There's a little jank when playing on Linux (especially with 3rd-party controllers), but it's not enough to drop the game. The scoring system seems balanced: regular mode is fun, and hard mode gave us a challenge where we were barely getting passing scores in the nick of time. Overall, I highly recommend this game for anyone looking for more games like Overcooked.

Choppy Cuts is a cheerful cooperative party game that turns the fast-paced environment of a busy hair salon into a playground for teamwork, quick thinking, and plenty of comedic mishaps. Developed and published by Moco Studios I, the game centers on serving an endless stream of customers with increasingly elaborate haircut requests while racing against the clock. Rather than focusing on realistic hairstyling, it embraces exaggerated physics, accessible mechanics, and nonstop cooperative chaos, creating an experience where every mistake often becomes just as entertaining as every success. Its colorful presentation and approachable gameplay make it easy for newcomers to jump in, while its growing challenges provide enough depth to keep returning players engaged. The game's biggest strength lies in its emphasis on collaboration. Every stage requires players to divide responsibilities efficiently, whether cutting hair, transporting customers, operating salon equipment, or reacting to unexpected obstacles that interrupt the workflow. No single player can comfortably manage every task, encouraging constant communication and coordination between teammates. As levels become more demanding…
