I love playing these puzzle games from my childhood. They aren't particularly modern and don't have the best gameplay and graphics. But for me they are nostalgic and help me to feel festive. If you like point and click puzzle games then these games may be for you!1 found this helpful
I'm a bit torn on this one. It has a decent story, has a good amount of game time, conveys the Christmas atmosphere well and there were some fun minigames in it. But after a point I got kinda tired of it. The puzzles do make sense but they are maybe too straightforward and the whole flow of the game is very linear. It's very clear what you have to use in most of the places, you use it, you get another object in return, which also is quite clear what you should use it on and so on. That made it feel a bit tedious, kinda like running errands. I also have to agree with many of the negative aspects highlighted by other reviewers: outdated look (although this one isn't that bad for me, I'm one of those older gamers so it even brings me nostalgia), some frustrating and confusing minigames that I had to skip, music and ambient sounds stop playing after a bit of being in a scene, no Steam achievements. But I guess I'll have to give it a positive review because I think overall it was good work and - especially for Christmas games - the atmosphere matters a lot to me. In the end I did finish both it and the bonus game, so I guess it kept my interest enough for me to play it for so many hours…
Beautiful game...so pretty graphics...and some hard riddles....really worths it,especially at Christmas period....the game has to do with Scrooge's life....it really to deserve to be at your gaming life
Bonus play is wonderful as is the game
Christmas Stories: A Christmas Carol Collector's Edition is a warm, narrative-focused hidden-object puzzle adventure that reimagines one of the most enduring holiday tales through interactive storytelling and cozy exploration. Developed by Elephant Games and published by BFG Entertainment, the game is part of the long-running Christmas Stories series and stays firmly rooted in the traditions of the HOPA genre. Rather than attempting to modernize or subvert its source material, it embraces the familiar structure and themes of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, transforming them into a relaxed, atmospheric experience that emphasizes mood, character, and gentle puzzle-solving. The story follows the classic arc of Ebenezer Scrooge’s journey toward redemption, guiding players through key moments inspired by Dickens’s novella. As Scrooge encounters the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come, players explore richly illustrated environments that reflect both the warmth and sorrow of Victorian-era London. The narrative unfolds gradually, allowing players to absorb the emotional beats without rushing, and the pacing is carefully tuned to maintain a sense of progression while …
Very disappointing game - at the last chapter - the Christmas future I've run into a glitch and the only way to resolve it would be to start the game all over again from scratch. Why the developers haven't fixed this issue? The game is from 2017! A party pooper this game!
