✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's cheerful aesthetic, cute characters, and charming story, though opinions are divided on execution. Common complaints include awkward character designs, poorly explained puzzles, technical issues like freezing, tedious mini-games that take excessive time, and a disappointing bonus story that feels disconnected and underdeveloped. The game is seen as serviceable but forgettable even by fans of the hidden object genre.

I'm mad you have to play the bonus story to play the better of the stories in this game and even that storyline of Scrooge cat isn't that fleshed out. Overall, the most disappointing Christmas Stories entry so far, the theme of Alice in Wonderland had me think this had potential but both the story and characters just didn't hit it. The environment design was annoyingly too colorful which just made it all feel off and every scene felt the same. It also lacked a lot of the frequently character interactions I expected from the series.

I feel like this is mean to say, but I am that displeased with this game. This installment of the Christmas Stories franchise is one of the worse hidden object games I have ever played. I really wanted to enjoy it - I love Christmas and hidden object games - but right of the bat the character designs were ugly/creepy, the voices and dialogue for some of the characters were awful, and the plot was just boring. One puzzle I eventually had to skip because it would freeze during every attempt at solving it, causing the game to be unresponsive which forced me to quit and reload the game each time. Left me feeling incredibly aggravated. Other issues include one of the scenes triggering a drop in fps and directions for some of the puzzles/mini-games being so poorly written that I still have no clue how I solved them. I am so incredibly disappointed that I have absolutely no desire to play it again. I rather have it removed from my library - it was that bad. The only highlights were actually getting majority of the achievements/collectibles/puzzle pieces when I wasn't trying and the bonus chapter being a slightly better story to play thru.

Another one for the pile of Christmas themed hidden-object-games my wife seems unable to outgrow so that we can finally move on and play the same idle clicker games... The game is alright, but more of the same when it comes to BFG titles. Kinda like how most Disney+ shows nowadays are kind of alright but very forgettable. The only unforgettable thing is how creepy this game's rendition of the cheshire cat 0..0'

I picked this game up despite no reviews at the time because it looked like it would be a cheesy story that would amuse me. This is indeed the case. The mini games are built to take a long time. I tried many times and couldn't beat the "infection"/othello clone game, there was a match 3 game that took forever, and there was some game about picking desserts for kids that no matter what I did I couldn't figure it out and get it to budge even one step, and a 4th game where I just didn't understand what it wanted. I did like some of the different takes on the hidden object sections so far, any hints I had to ask for is just a skill issue there. :) This game does have a full walkthrough which is wonderful (though I don't think you need that with the hint system) and the ability to skip any minigame you want. But I feel the minigames could have been better designed to where a veteran HOG player shouldn't need to skip or at least not be confused as to what goes where. I decided to recommend this despite my issues but ONLY because it is so accessible with a walkthrough, hint system, and skip button that will get you past the obtuse mini games. Veteran players who will have their experi…

It was cheerful. Could be too cheerful for some. It flowed right along, but some of the puzzles were hard (fortunately there's a Skip button), and some seemed irrelevant to the story. The bonus game (after you've finished the main game) was really short on plot and somewhat disorganized. It seemed to be a catchall for a supplemental story accompanied by non-story links to puzzles that were mostly previously solved.
