About Citadale Resurrection

Infamy returns - and this time it is free!

The dark lord has been slain. But evil forces throughout the centuries have always tried to bring him back to un-life. And every time, heroes stood against them, preventing the worst from happening. And these are their adventures. Set throughout history, their strength, wisdom and courage lead them down into darkness. Can they bring back the light, or die trying?

Citadale Resurrection is a collection of old-school retro Citadale games in the style of various systems released in the mid 1980s to early 1990s. Each game has its own unique look, sound, gameplay style and feel. And yet, they are all distinctly Citadale. And, to lure you in, the first two games in this collection are free. Start up and play, no hidden fees, no secret costs, 100% free. Should you like what you get, you can buy the other games as DLC. Five games are available, two are free and three are paid DLC, completing the package.

Bringing back the past to forge a future.

A journey into darkness begins when the missing pages of an infamous tome threaten to fall into the wrong hands. This DLC Pack unlocks the whole Book of Shadows game as well as its soundtrack in the in-game jukebox.
  • Prelude to War
The son of the Dark Lord of the old lands searches for a fitting resting place for his father’s cursed remains. This DLC Pack unlocks the whole Prelude to War game as well as its soundtrack in the in-game jukebox.
  • Darkness my Curse
Gabriel Dorleac scours Citadale island for the very first time in search for his missing brother. This DLC Pack includes the full game as well as the soundtrack for the in-game jukebox.

Due to limitations with the engine, some controllers may not work properly. There is, unfortunately, nothing I can do about that. Should you have any trouble with your gamepad, maybe try another gamepad or use the keyboard. I apologize for the inconvenience.

This is not bad at all for the two free games that are included... I didn't buy the DLC and I won't until they cost like 50 cents or so because they're janky indie games. They mimic Castlevania but each game has its own character and concept... Strength in Agony- this is kind of an exploration game but not a Metroidvania... basically, you have a sword and the ability to heal. Not healing builds up the ability to deal more damage, so it's better not to heal as much as possible. You get a few trinkets along the way. Each section is a little maze and it can be really disorienting and annoying because everything looks the same. There are a lot of bosses and it gets pretty tough near the middle, but it's also super repetitive. The whole game takes about an hour. Suffer on Revival - This is a charming "Castlevania - Lite" type game with minimalist graphics and no depth. All you do is swing a sword and dodge enemies as you progress. There are five stages and five seperate bosses... a few are pretty tough. There's a timer that you're supposed to refill but the game is so easy it doesn't matter. It's a fun little 15 minute game. It includes "classic" and "anniversary mode" as if to m…

Two very old school games. Too much old school, even if I was alive at that time.

the first boss is not only a real assault to the ears but a real sponge, too. woof. my biggest real gripe with this game is actually that it's almost impossible to crouch to hit low enemies. if I switch from D-pad left/right to down by rolling my thumb, my character very briefly ducks and then stands back up even though I'm holding down as an input. it'll switch to ducking only when I click down directly. Super annoying.
