City Hunter

Do I like the game itself? No. Do I like THIS RELEASE? Yes. The thumbs up is for the love put into this release. Has every feature I can ask for, looks great, and includes nice bonuses for fans of the show. They even included Get Wild! I hope we get more releases like this, and I am a die hard City Hunter fan so I will gladly support anything of the series getting a US release. The effort put into this release and the localization into many languages I can respect. The game itself is not that great though. They put a lot of love and effort into this release but can't really polish a turd. A lot of running aimlessly through unmarked doors into dead end rooms. Everything looks the same. Nothing really exciting or special. There isn't even a final boss! I was able to beat the game in a couple hours, but if you know where to go you can beat the entire game in like a half hour. So if you really like City Hunter like I do, or just like releases of retro games previously locked to Japan, wait for a sale, it's not worth 25 dollars. Otherwise, it's not really worth buying on its own. There's plenty of retro game collections out there where you can get more bang for your buck. I hope …

GET WILD AND TOUGH! MOKORRI! A decent game, definitley telling of its age. Appreciate the attempt SUNSOFT did with the City Hunter series here. I would wait for a sale, but it was worth it for me as a City Hunter fan. The game isn't long, just a bit tedious with the backtracking. The game is still great regardless, but wait for a sale if you can.

Overpriced considering the game itself isn't all that deep (or good), but it's a fun little relic of the early 90s with all the bells & whistles of a modern retro games collection. Only buy at full-price if you're a big fan of City Hunter.

I played the original fan translation when that originally released. I'm more of a Sunsoft fan than I am City Hunter, so in a sense I'm kind of a "tourist" when it comes to this game's content. So despite the low playtime and my issues with this game, I'll still recommend it, but it's only something that typically people who are REALLY into retro games or Sunsoft's back catalogue would be interested in. This Steam release of City Hunter is an interesting re-release. The presentation around the game is actually phenomenal and is really well done, complete with the rendered out 3D models of the game's original physical HuCard release, much like their previous "Sunsoft is Back!" collection's bonuses. Just like that collection, this game has the gallery/bonus content and it's not really gated off by making you play the game, which is appreciated. So what about the actual game? Well, to be honest, it's ironically the worst part about the collection. City Hunter PCE is just one of those games from the 90s that is a "forgotten game" not because of a mistake on the publisher or marketing and it's actually secretly a banger; but rather because it completely misunderstands how to be a good…

Price is a definitely a bit much, but if you're a City Hunter fan, prepare to Get Wild! It is a very well prepared port of the original 1990 version with some neat little bonus stuff. Doesn't take too long to play either. I would wait until the price goes down, but I had no idea this game even came out, so when I saw it, I immediately grabbed it and I am satisfied!

The Original what Is complete untouched, the “remade” with some better enemy reactions and the Hard versions for the people who wants more difficulty (enemys got more life, do more dmg and the traps are faster).
