About Cookie Space
This is an arcade adventure shooter set in a "?closed?" space. Your task in the role of a tiny spaceship is to shoot asteroids (very similar to cookies) to clear the space around. First, small asteroids, the size of a cherry, will arrive, you can deal with them easily, easier than a steamed turnip. But then, when, by the way, you are promoted in rank for military services to the universe and are awarded an instant upgrade of your ship and weapons, larger pebbles will begin to visit you. And after them, much larger ones. It will be exponentially more difficult with them. But you will also be better armed. Control the ship using the front and rear thrust, turn to follow the cursor, and sometimes watch the charge consumption scale.

Cookie Space is an ultra-minimalist arcade shooter that embraces the spirit of old-school score-chasing games with complete confidence, delivering a lightweight but strangely addictive experience centered around surviving endless waves of cookie-shaped asteroids in deep space. Developed and published by DIG Games, the project feels intentionally small in scale and almost proudly simplistic, focusing entirely on reflex-driven gameplay, escalating difficulty, and arcade survival mechanics rather than cinematic storytelling or complex progression systems. It is the kind of game that immediately recalls the early days of arcade cabinets where players were given a ship, a score counter, and a single objective: survive as long as possible while the game steadily became more chaotic. Cookie Space does not attempt to modernize the genre through elaborate systems or flashy spectacle, but instead commits fully to straightforward arcade action that can be enjoyed in short bursts or repeated endlessly in pursuit of higher scores. Cookie Space is an unabashed, lazy ripoff of Asteroids (Copyright Atari, 1979). Many lazy "amateur" developers don't pay attention to their obligations under copyright law, and often steal the ideas of actual, real game developers without credit, such as the "developer" here has done. At this stage no legal action has been taken by Atari against the "developer" here, but it's never off the table, as previous copyright law cases have shown. Putting aside the unethical intellectual bankruptcy of stealing someone else's game concept for profit, this is also breaking that unwritten law of stealing other people's game ideas... you should at least try to do better than the game you're ripping off. Cookie Space is considerably worse than Asteroids. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result.
