About Cyber Surf

Cyber Surf is a VR flying game where the player races to discover new worlds. As a dimensional explorer and adrenaline junky, your goal is to compete with other adventurers, get through checkpoints and build your score to be awarded with a new environment to plunge into.
An assortment of different Cyber Surf Boards are available to choose from, in order to help grind the competition into dust. Each with their own individual handling. Modes can be tailored to fit the competitive nature of each individual player, ranging from Time Trial to Exploration. Ditch your gamepad controller and use the custom-built surfboard controller to reach a whole new level of immersion.

✦ AI summary

Cyber Surf receives mixed feedback from players. The game's stylish cyberpunk visuals and neon aesthetic are praised, along with its dynamic surfing mechanics that provide initial appeal, but repetitive music, limited map variety, and shallow gameplay quickly become monotonous. Players appreciate it as a casual arcade experience for short play sessions but feel the game lacks depth in storytelling, customization options, and overall content to sustain long-term engagement.

"Cyber Surf" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from IED in Italy. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. This is a very poorly done VR tech demo, a simple "flying" game where you wave your arms around in VR and jankily move along different "racetracks" in the sky... or don't. I'm pretty sure playing games this bad while in VR could lead to something like a Lawnmower Man crisis. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandab…
