About Cyberplug

In Cyberplug, you will run across the city clearing different levels, using the fast electric powers of the main character, in order to beat the F.R.O.G. Corporation that rules the city with a tight fist. These electric powers will be specially useful in the different settings such as the sewers or the suburbs where you will encounter different obstacles to beat at high speeds!
  • Frenetic Plataformer: Lateral movement based in the character's speed.
  • Movement skills: Beat different challenges with a variety of powers that will boost the speed.
  • Overcome threats: The corporation's robots will try to stop you, but you will be able to use them to obtain impulse and soar through the level.
  • Replayability: Once a level is finished, you will be able to come back to it and attempt to race beat your best time in a "shadow mode", or obtain the collectables you missed.
The comic hand drawn art style with contrasting colors, combined with the frenetic electric mechanics and gameplay, give the game a unique feeling within the cyberpunk theme.

"Cyberplug" is a somewhat mediocre 2D retro platformer with a rather loose "cyberpunk" theme. What do you do in the game? There's a gimmick where you can turn into electricity. You need to collect points to progress to certain levels, adding a Metroidvania aspect to the game (sort of)... and no checkpoints, which is a real killer. At least it's not pixel "art"? The hand drawn stuff is almost charming... but not winning any awards. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 13 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even …

High speed plugging of cyber things is a guaranteed good time, it's like if Sonic the Hedgehog was a better game and had more sewers
