About SPRAWL

✦ AI summary

Play as SEVEN, a disgraced super soldier fighting through an AI-controlled cyberpunk city with wall-running parkour, bullet-time mechanics, and a arsenal of melee and firearms to topple a military regime. Master high-speed combat chess against endless enemy waves while uncovering the mysteries of the SPIRE in this hardcore retro FPS inspired by classics like Akira and Ghost in the Shell.

“You chose exile in search of penance, in place of revenge.
I seek to give you both - and in return…
I will be set free.” - FATHER

Enter the dystopian world of SPRAWL, a hardcore retro FPS set in an endless cyberpunk megalopolis. Advances in cybernetics and artificial intelligence pushed humanity into a new era, but that golden age has crumbled…leaving behind a broken world.

Play as SEVEN, a disgraced special ops super soldier who finds herself embroiled in conflict with government forces trying to kill her while a mysterious voice in her head pushes her to survive. Betrayed by her organization and on a mission to overthrow the Junta, a military regime that rules the sprawl with an iron fist, SEVEN must escape the walled city and discover what secrets lie at the SPIRE.

The streets of the SPRAWL are vast and the armies of the corporate government seem endless. But the dark alleys and dilapidated apartment surfaces are all compatible with the “Icarus” cybernetic implant, allowing SEVEN to perform gravity-defying wall-running maneuvers and slow down time with excess adrenaline drops from dismembered enemies. With a horde of different troop types and carefully designed weapons, she will be pushed to the limit to survive.

The SPRAWL eventually consumes us all…will you fight your way out?

To escape the desolate, AI-controlled city you’re gonna need to think quickly and master your weapons in a high-speed game of combat chess. Slash with your katana, keep a steady hand for headshots with the pistol, and use the powerhouse shotgun to jump up and out of range. Quickly swap weapons with no slowdown as you finish your enemies with precision aiming and slow down time for headshots.

Get the best of your enemies and defy gravity with a cybernetic implant. Experience a new approach to wallrunning with seamless transitions from the ground to the walls, creating an entirely new dimension for exploration and combat. Solve combat situations creatively to get different rewards: ammo, health boosts, and refills of your bullet time adrenal meter.

Explore a retro-futuristic and dystopian world filled with deep lore and visually inspired by classics like Akira and Ghost in the Shell.

While racing to the Spire, a variety of enemies will present new challenges to overcome. You’ll need to adjust on the fly to different attack patterns. Rapid fire bursts from the SMG elite will keep you on your toes while a riot guard will charge and block your bullets. Think fast and adapt to survive.

Immerse yourself in the environment and sounds of SPRAWL with an original industrial electronic soundtrack. The dynamic music system responds to your actions, lining up with kills and movements as you progress.

Short but very intense. Ghostrunner + DOOM with a bit of Half-Life vibes and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DnB soundtrack. Very impressive for a game made by essentially 2 people. The arena at the end of e3m2 can go ♥♥♥♥ itself tho.

For some reason, I avoided this game for a really long time, and I was absolutely wrong to do so! The game delivers a ton of aesthetic cyberpunk pleasure! The design, sound, and music are superb. I'm especially obsessed with those choral chants. The game is compact, with no unnecessary leveling up or bloat. Looking forward to her next game!

After reading the Sprawl trilogy by William Gibson, I was hyped to see a game based on it. The gameplay is fun and the refferences to the books are cool, really recommended.

You are HER. You shoot gun until everything is dead (including yourself haha). While doing that, you move around at mach 10. And finally doing all this, your ears are blessed with one of the sickest OST ever. This game was made with love, care and passion.

While it's opening is rough around the edges and the game lacks some polish, when you expand your arsenal Sprawl clicks in a way few movement shooters have. I think that's why the game has such a drop off. Only 57 percent of players beat the first mission and considerably less reached the end of the second one (Which is fair because it is the worst level in the game.) I think the headshot focus turned most away and it almost did me cause the starting pistols suck ass and I hate headshot focus out of realistic shooters with a passion. Seven also isn't as fast as the genre's other protags, and while you have excellent air control, good jumps and flowing wall run and slides you feel a little like a fat Johnny Turbo. Anyway by the time you get the Shotgun at the end of level 2 (and are using the cross reticle because of the spread pattern) the game suddenly snaps together and just rocks. It becomes a Major Kusanagi simulator in the best way. Borderline a power fantasy as you dance tight circles around the enemies. It is a little on the easy side because of this but slip up and you'll be quick to pay the price. The ai is highly aggressive and hits hard. It's designed well for the gam…
