About Cypress Inheritance: The Beginning
The MAC version of the NEW Cypress Inheritance: The Beginning will update in the next few months.(An update on the MAC version. We are still working to get this out and we will put new update out as soon as it is completed. This is a goal to get CITB ported to MAC.) Cypress Inheritance: The Beginning came out in 2014. We went through a lot of changes after the launch. However, the game was still not what was intended to be.
We have been working to rebuild this entirely and now have completed. We have gone through a lot of changes in the company, and this has taken much longer than we expected but we have launched the new CITB game. This is essentially a completely new game. We are confident the game is now an exceptional experience, very engaging, with strong replay ability with its design. In the rebuild we have also added a considerable amount of additional content with several changes to the game play. Cypress Inheritance: The Beginning is now what was intended, and dramatically improved, with using the benefits of UE5 and many additions to the game play. We have made tremendous changes to all the art, UI, characters and overall flow of the game.
We are continuing to update and as well be adding additional content.
A few of the newer features include:
• 3rd person perspective
• A very strong inventory system.
• An in-game map system with scrolling ability, as well will be upgrade-able.
• Detailed weather system that does affect the character and achieving goals.
• Rebuilt in UE5
• Re-shot and new in-game cinematics
• Complete overhaul of SFX and FX systems
• Completely new assets including character, animations, and props
• Redesigned AI for a more challenging and engaging experience
• Steam controller Support
• Steam Cloud save
CITB continues to offer excellent replayability, as each newly started game randomizes item locations, necessitating adaptive strategies.
About:
Lorna Ritten has learned of Alfred Cypress, her grandfather whom she has never known. Her family past has always been somewhat of a mystery. She also learns of what she has inherited, of which she has no idea of just how important this actually is to her and others. After being contacted by a stranger, this leads her into the beginning of a very unique situation. Regardless of what she is facing, she must continue forward to achieve what is needed for herself, and so much more!
Arriving at a secluded island, the setting is somewhat overwhelming. But even with the vastness of the island, and what dangers may lie ahead, she is still very intrigued. While knowing very little about Alfred Cypress, it will become obvious he has an eccentric nature, as well as brilliance in him. The technology discovered conveys all this in many ways. There is so much to do, and find out, not a lot of time, and realization of the need to be extremely careful not to get caught.

What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise the game's promising stealth and puzzle-solving mechanics, interesting premise about escaping an island within 72 hours, and solid graphics, with some noting the developers are responsive to support. However, major concerns center on game-breaking bugs that make progression impossible (vaults won't open, items won't register in inventory), a frustratingly empty world with minimal enemy encounters, poor performance despite using Unreal Engine, and severe lack of developer communication about the game's status and future updates.
Seriously, no-one seems to know what the developer is up to except the developer. They seem to operate in their own fantasy world and forget there are customers out in the real world wondering what they paid for. The promises seem empty, based upon the piss-poor effort in communication. Steer clear as this is as dead as a Dodo and to be honest you are more likely to see a live Dodo then this game properly finished. You have been warned.13 found this helpful
It's difficult to make a game but it's more difficult that the game attracts the attention of players. The game is some sort of stealth and open world where you are trying to escape from an island where your grandpas left you a manor. The idea of escape of an island is not new, but if you have 72 hours to do it, this fact gives an extra point to the game. I think Prince of Persia was the first game to use time in this way. Technically the game is built on the unreal engine (it doesn't run quite smooth) but although the world is big, it is also very empty Maybe this is the great mistake of the game, its emptiness. I've played the first mission where I've walked inside a cave after I've escape from my cell and I have found only two guards (some sort of robotical armored knights) easily avoided because you have some sort of cloak device that makes you invisible. Nothing else. No map and no idea what I should do. Maybe this is the first chapter, the beginning, but it is the end for me. I've try it but there is no emotional link to anything and there haven't found any reason to return to the island. I can not recommend it, however you can try it and enjoy where I couldn't. The game is very promising for the gamers who like stealth + puzzle solving! The devs are quick on support and they plan to release a UE4 rebuild which would transform the game into new! Very excited! I just hope they add intro and mid level videos for better grasp of the map and objectives.5 found this helpful
UPDATE 7/25 - With all the latest patches you can now get into vaults but all undergound vaults say "Vault Empty". Two topside vaults have hard drives in them but if you can pick them up they don't register in your inventory that you took them or you may even not be able to pick them up even if they are right in front of you. Game is still impossible to complete in the current state. UPDATE - 6/30 I have unlocked two topside vaults with nothing to take out of them. I have also unlocked 2 of the 5 underground vaults. There is a locked box in those vaults but even with the 5 outpost codes and the 5 keys the boxes will not unlock. The current state of the game=Impossible to finish game until bug is fixed. UPDATE- Just days after reporting my negative review, a 1 GB patch has come out. Most of the ATV issues are FIXED!!! When you save the game and reload your ATV now doesn't disappear. The ATV doesn't get stuck as bad as it did. In 2 places I managed to get it stuck but I was able to push the ATV out of the bad situation AND, the big one so far, there's ATV stations! Now you can access multiple ATVs instead of the very first one in the game!! I will explore more to see wh…4 found this helpful
I am deal chaser and I like to play games that go off the beaten path. When I saw this game at sale, it caught my eye and seemed to have the elements I was looking for: nice graphics, exploration, a mysterious island, interesting gameplay (cause&effect). The game delivered on what I was expecting on the graphics part and exploration. Also, the island sure is mysterious and a deserted place only populated by those knights robots. For me, the game began on a high note with the briefing at the mansion and the scene at the port. Only enough information to get to the next place. I was intrigued. I arrived at the island and it was very nice, but then some execution problems started to pop up. I was faced with a bug that prevented me from continuing the game or even start a new game. Every time I tried to get to the island, I was kicked out of it and the game ended. I managed to get around it, but it was a frustrating introduction. Some other problems happened and also other good surprises that I try to summarize below. Pros: - Nice graphics - Nice atmosphere - Nice voice acting - Ok CGI - This game has some thing very nice and kind of rare that I always look for in games in: persis…2 found this helpful
Cypress Inheritance: The Beginning, developed and published by Cypress Inheritance, LLC, is an indie action-adventure game that sets out to combine stealth, exploration, and narrative-driven progression within a contemporary espionage framework. The story follows Lorna Cypress, who inherits more than just wealth from her grandfather—she inherits a legacy tied to secret technologies, hidden facilities, and a larger conspiracy that slowly unfolds as the game progresses. From the start, the game positions itself as a mystery-driven experience, encouraging players to uncover not just what happened in the past, but how it connects to the dangers of the present. The gameplay is primarily structured around stealth and careful navigation through enemy-controlled environments. Players are given access to a range of gadgets and tools designed to support different approaches, allowing for some flexibility in how objectives are completed. You can sneak past guards, use devices to distract or disable enemies, or attempt a more direct approach if necessary. In theory, this variety adds depth and encourages experimentation, but in practice, the systems feel somewhat limited. While multiple strat…1 found this helpful
