This is a cute game that has some good ideas and fun level design, but needs a lot of polish to be truly great. I'd give it about a 6.5 out of 10. I was looking forward to this because the developer has a lot of unique and innovative gimmicks in the guilty gear series, but this game misses the mark pretty often. Here is what I think needs to be fixed: 1) Inventory management is a huge pain. Yes, you can buy bigger backpacks and storage, but I just hate tetris-ing stuff in my inventory. It's a big waste of time in this game, which is exacerbated by... 2) The healing system is the worst I have ever seen in ANY game. First of all, you need to pause the game to use healing while in combat, which is insane for a twin-stick shooter. And second, the healing consumables are all items that you have to cook using a truly absurd amount of different ingredient pickups. Each type of ingredient - and healing consumable, of which there are many, many, slight variations - takes up one of the limited slots in your inventory. I tried to engage with this system as little as possible, and just bought the default healing burgers from the starting vendor in bulk whenever possible. I don't know who pic…

One of the first things that floored me about this game was the sheer amount of ambition put into it, despite being a lower budget game. The visual appeal was upfront, but the length of the game was longer than expected (devs approximated around 20~ hours iirc, I expected 12~ at most?) and it wasn't as linear as I thought it would have been. The devs clearly have so many ideas they want to execute that aren't typical for them to do and I greatly appreciate that alone. On that point, the game could use balancing and rethinking of certain mechanics to make them feel more whole. The game will feel like a challenge initially, but towards the end, if you collected certain upgrades and equipment, it's quite easy to go in GUNS BLAZING--disregarding many mechanics, such as elemental properties, inventory management, and more--even destroying enemies so fast you would never get acquainted with their full attack patterns. The handgun IS busted and I find that so funny (especially as a HC main), but it's allowed me to disrespect so many bosses in the last half of game, lol. It would feel more satisfying if the sheer amount of gun types and abilities felt more necessary than just being around…

I do recommend Damon and Baby but with a caveat. It's a good game, I enjoyed it in the end but don't expect a super polished experience, it's was made by a small team in comparison to other Arcsys games, still it can be fun if you approach it like a metroidvania/dungeon crawler. Hope to see more of this IP in the future!

Best adventure I've played in a long time. It has some bugs but nothing too crazy. The co-op is good but it has some problems that make it hard to use and could use a lot of improvements and QoL, but its also just great to have anyways. For some reason the second player can't aim, not sure if this is intended or a bug. Their inventory system was hard to figure out, they have to hold the pickup/interact button to drop their items.

Simple, Enjoyable, Fast Fun! Do not come into this game expecting anything super deep or life changing, but this game is a certified good time with cool looking enemies, fast gunplay and twinstick action. I might come back to it to get all collectibles, but to 100% achievements you only need to beat it. It also features couch co-op! And of course, if you played Guilty Gear or Blazblue before, this is a great introduction to twin stick shooter genre with fun references to past (and possibly future?) titles!
