Couldn't they have thought to make the game's border visible in-game? At least as a line on the floor? So I'd know when to back up before I hit something, not after. This happened about 20 times in half an hour of play, and it's incredibly annoying. Only 16 tracks.

My play area seems too small to play, and getting a camera to work for desktop mode is a pain. It also seems like this game is basically officially dead, although there still seems to be a fan community around. I wouldn't buy this unless you have a VR setup, or until after it receives substantial update/leaves early access (if it ever does). Which is a shame, because the idea is a super cool one.

So, review time. IDK what all the drama is about, I won't pretend that I do. This is just a review of the game in its current state in January of 2026. It's (almost) everything I wanted in a VR Rhythm Game. Most of the games that people talk about using for exercise involve heavy arm use--but if you want to burn calories, you're best off using the bigger muscles: the legs (this is true for both men and women). This isn't DDR--it's all horizontal and vertical movement, there's no forward and back, but it will make you sweat. Plus, for the small library, there's a HUGE community contributed library of which I have barely even scratched the surface. Constructive Criticisms: (1) Using HTC Base Stations and Trackers for feet, the shoe calibration is wonky. It's almost mirrored, and I know that transformation matrices and quaternions can be hard, but this is just hilariously bad. So my quick workaround: strap the trackers to your ankles, compensate to the best of your ability by doing opposite of what it looks like you should do, then after "calibration" bend down and physically rotate the tracker around your ankle until the shoe is in the right spot. I originally started playing this game on the quest store since it was before I had full body trackers. I attempted to use the phone app for tracking at the time, but it did not work very well at all, though don't take too much from that because ambient lighting is very difficult to produce in my house for things like that to work well, so it may not be the app's fault at all. Using controllers on the legs however, did work quite well, and I continued to play the game like that until I got full body trackers. I eventually moved to the Steam version and have been playing it that way ever since. Dance Dash has become a staple in my workout routine and I love the game very much. The built-in songs may not be much to go crazy about, but they work well enough to get started. The amount of community supported songs completely makes up for the lack of a first party library and the process for downloading those being built-in to the game function is really nice. I really do not have any problems when it comes to playing the game. [h2] This game is very fun but pretty physically demanding. [/h2] I started with the demo v. on my laptop then bought the game when I purchased pc setup and webcam but it looks like they only do phone leg tracking now. The tracking does the trick just recalibrate after breaks that's what I do to make sure it is accurate. I can play one normal or hard song and feel exhausted! It's a work out and I can see why they want you to wear a heart tracker while playing. If anyone knows how to integrate apple watch heart rate tracking let me know. The songs preinstalled I enjoyed during the demo it's my second time playing the game threw my steam link and I no longer like the preinstalled songs. If I'm going to dance and have it feel like a burning hell it better be to a song I know well! I appreciate the community songs, but just wish there were more normal ones. I do like that it shows how many calories I burned because that's something I wondered while playing beat saber earlier. For best calorie counting adding wrist tracker is best.
