Strange game, it's a fun throwback to simpler days. I was able to play through till the end, then I managed to pidgeon hole myself into a unwinnable situation so I restarted. The story more than a bit goofy, the art is simple and sometimes childish but once I started I couldn't put it down and ended up 100% the game. Use the Munk guide, it'll help. I managed to get to the final boss without it but I couldn't get past the endurance test with the final boss with just one health left...

Тёмное отражение (Dark Reflection) is a 2D retro pixel side view classic action/adventure game designed in the light of old Commodore 64 Personal Computer era games, with some attention made to writing and custom assets. The concept would be fine... if it was 1988. It's not. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio. It's possible they developed this using an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game has been specifically designed for people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn't really acceptable in the modern era of PC gaming. Old style action adventure game. Roughly first half of is quite good, exploring places, finding stuff for light inventory puzzles and random combat, some hidden secrets that there ain't frankly any way to find out without guide. If the whole game would've been like that it would've been short and sweet indie game, and developers have mentioned Dark Seed as one of the inspirations. But at second half that style of game changes to mainly fighting and evading pixel-sized projectiles. Character is quite slow and have only knife with small range, making proceeding frustrating.. Add to that savepoints that force you to grind same areas, portals which destinations you have no idea. Generally game is trying to be something that engine is not made to.

This was cute. Nice little retro pixel graphics, decent music. Bare-bones story but serviceable. It plays like a slightly arcade version of Hugo's House of Horrors. Mild adventure puzzle elements and press spacebar to knife the baddies.
