Data Defense is a strategy-focused tower defense game developed and published by 2Blocks. Rather than using traditional fantasy or military themes commonly associated with the genre, the game takes place within a stylized digital environment where the battlefield represents a computer network under attack. Players assume the role of a system administrator tasked with protecting critical data servers from waves of invading digital threats such as bugs, malware, and viruses. This cyber-themed setting gives the game a distinctive identity while still maintaining the core mechanics that define the tower defense genre. The premise is relatively simple but effective. A complex network of servers has become the target of malicious software attempting to infiltrate and corrupt the system’s core data. Each mission represents a section of this network where enemy programs attempt to travel across the digital landscape in order to reach and destroy the central server. The player’s job is to deploy defensive programs that intercept these threats before they reach their destination. Good game. Easy to pick up and play for a few minutes at a time. Nice graphics and progression system. I first found this on Android and have finished it several times there.1 found this helpful
Don't let the minimalist style fool you into thinking the game is simple -- it has everything you'd want from a tower defense game. 5 different classes of towers, with 5 vastly different versions each, 5 different active effects, ~10 different enemy types with 3 levels each, varied map structures that force you to build different mazes, a procedural upgrade tree... Grade A tower defense as far as I'm concerned^^1 found this helpful
