Rezist: Tower Defense

This is a pretty good tower defense game. It's very challenging and well balanced. There's a decent variety of towers and upgrades. At a dollar, it's a real steal!

It's okay, compared to the average Steam tower defense game it is well above average, that said, it is not stellar, and could use some really basic, simple polishing up. The core game is that you have three tower types to place, but only where there is cleared ground of the correct color. There are a few elevated spots that let you put any tower type there, but so far only the blue towers seem to give me the expanded range to make them worthwhile. The blue towers hurls powerful projectiles; but you can only have two at a time and it takes awhile to recharge. Red is constant fire, and the green... not sure what it's deal is. You can only place them where the game allows, so there is very little in the way of strategic placement. They each level up based on experience points, they level up twice basically, then the third level splits into two types, so there is some decision making there. You have no control over targeting. In this regard it is very like Cursed treasure, an excellent TD game, without the art, style, humor and depth. There are strategic upgrades, and tactical actions. Pretty good tower defence game. Not a lot of complicated graphics so if you have a lower spec system to play it on then you should have no problems. Could use an instruction screen to explain a few things but if you play it for awhile, you'll figure it out.

"Rezist: Tower Defense" is, to me, an immensely enjoyable game. It definitely has its downsides, but overall, I enjoyed it very much. This is a tower defense game where you have only three types of towers and, initially, limited space on which to build them (as you gain energy in the level, you can "format" more space and build additional towers). As you would expect, the towers can be upgraded as they gain experience, but what those upgrades do isn't clearly explained, especially when you can choose one of two upgrade paths. There is a global leveling-up system which strengthens the towers or alters certain behavior, and this leveling up happens fairly quickly as you play. There are only 13 levels/maps, but it took me 25 hours to get 3 stars on all 13 levels. In addition to the in-level upgrades and global upgrades, there are three special actions you can perform in a level once you have enough energy to do so -- 1) hack, 2) laser rain, and 3) overclock. Hack allows you to "format" an area so you can build a tower there. Laser rain is a directed attack (in addition to the towers) for which you select the target area. Overclock increases the speed at which your towers can …

Really enjoyed this Tower Defense ride. I don't completely play through many titles, but I did here (took me 18 hours). Does not overwhelm you with options - but more than enough to make you think. A bit of grinding, but the levels are over fairly quickly and it gives you a chance to refine tactics. It also has that "one more quick try" element to it. Graphics are fairly minimalist but really suit the "computer" setting. A bit more formalised info on enemies, upgrades etc would help most players.

Addictive already. Only downside for me is the music. Have to use windows control to turn it down. But the gameplay is best so far I encountered in Tower Defense genre. One of the games I played that gave real value for the money. Love it.
