A lonely monster huntress has risen to challenge and appease the gods, traveling through what's left of the world.

  • 2 weapons: revolver and crossbow
  • 9 blessings and 12 relics to combine

The concept is interesting, but the execution is clunky and there isn't much variety. These issues might be fixed in the full version, but this prologue didn't impress me very much.

it's okay for about 4 minutes, then you start wondering when the game will appear. UX is "we had this asset flip that only gives mediocre success, tried to launder it another time, and still won't admit it doesn't come together" there is a timer that doesn't always tell you who acts when, a round design that doesn't tell you who will act next, a beautiful color-coding for threats that'll just politely not tell you some damage every once in a while so you get hit out of blue sky, the character choice is "no choice", choice of 2 weapons that do the same thing just the unrelated backstats vary, there is a semblance of a shop with roguelike, as half assed as possible, looks like sales pitch that fell out of someone's a slide deck and they didn't bother picking it back up, because unfinished sells too. for replay value it's like something that tried to be a rollercoaster and ended up washing machine. For free it's okay to play, if you're disciplining yourself not wanting more because there isn't, and don't mind getting stuck in mud and clunky walking, because why not build software that forces useless clicks.

Day of the Shell is a simple yet effective tactical rogue-lite. The game is beautiful, the art direction is high quality, the storytelling is quite good, and the soundtrack is pleasant. I highly recommend it; a prologue of this quality, and it's free to boot. Honestly, play the game, download it!

only played the demo so far. But it looks to be a good deal of fun. Read some complaints about controls and design principle: It is a one action per turn game. Move or shoot. You move with clicking on a tile, you shoot with clicking on an enemy. i admit first run i had an issue witth controls as well, but tht is just getting used to the concept. One action per turn - i like it . It is simple, keeps the game casual and you do not run into the xcom issue, where ist is always the last guy that ends up revealing the enemies.
