"Defenders of the Dune" is a simple and unambitious mini-TD game with a sandcastle theme (oddly very few games on Steam are sandcastle themed). Gameplay itself is shallow even for a TD... think of this as a kind of freeform Kingdom Rush, waves of enemies come to attack your little sandcastle so your sandcastle men have to defend it. You can place structures to help with the defense. Collect resources during the day, survive the attack waves at night. That's all there is to it really. It feels like a relic from the late 1990's/early 2000's Adobe Flash era of a gaming. But this has been published on Steam alongside contemporary, cutting edge PC games. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. Next is pricing and…

units behind structures are easily lost or forgotten. walls can only be placed diagonally and usually do not line up with each other but i do find it fun to play and interesting since it has a research tree. polish the tutorial, make some hotkeys more apparent or visible and ill come back.
