Defense of Egypt: Cleopatra Mission, developed and published by First Games Interactive, is a traditional tower defense game that embraces a historical theme while staying firmly rooted in familiar genre conventions. Set against a stylized backdrop of ancient Egypt under threat from Roman forces, the game casts players as a tactical defender tasked with protecting Cleopatra’s lands from relentless waves of invaders. It doesn’t aim to redefine the genre, but instead focuses on delivering a steady, accessible strategy experience built around planning, positioning, and incremental upgrades. The gameplay follows the classic tower defense formula, where enemies march along predetermined routes and players must construct defensive structures to stop them. What gives the game its identity is how it wraps these mechanics in its Egyptian theme. Towers are reimagined as period-inspired defenses, and the battlefield is complemented by abilities tied to mythological elements, such as divine interventions that can turn the tide during critical moments. This game is in the genre made popular by games such as those in the "Kingdom Rush" series. This is one of my favorite types of TD games. It follows the main gameplay of such games where you have fixed paths and locations to place your turrets. The turrets available are similar to those in other games and can be upgraded as you progress and gather coins. With that background, I would say that if you like this genre, you will like this game. It is not the best in this group, but good enough to enjoy. The graphics and movements are good, but not as polished as some of the other games. Neither is the strategy needed to win. Some corners have been cut, but the game is inexpensive and worth a try for fans, or those new to this genre (7/10).
