About Defentron

Defentron is a 3D "Tower Defense" straight out of the 80's with its retro look.

Get ready and battle for the ultimate upgrade. Defentron, the retro-futurist computer system is trying to safeguard itself from malicious viruses that seek to control its core.

Use strategy to upgrade your lines of defense and become the most powerful security system ever known.

Think like an 80s software. You will face fast, hard, resilient enemies, capable of regenerating or splitting when destroyed, returning to the battlefield. Nobody will be safe until the last of the living enemies falls.

Will you be able to save Defentron from the enemy threat? It all depends on you.

It's ok. It's more of a puzzle game than a traditional turret defense game as the strategies required are extremely precise and allow for little to no creativity (all this by as early as map 10). There are no skill trees or other metagame elements that can be used to help try different strategies or grind a bit to pass a map. Instead, it's simply a matter of trial and error with very fine changes (e.g., detonate x tower at y point in wave 7) until you 'solve' the puzzle. I'm not recommending it because of various bugs (including very annoying sound related bugs) and it being extremely shallow. It appears to be a mobile port, but for the asking price there are many, many superior TD mobile ports (e.g., Infinitode 2).

I turned off game sfx and music, played my playlist in background then I pressed on a tower missclicked on overloaded and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself. Developer if you somehow see this, please fix the sounds. I don't want to get a jumpscare by the intro everytime I open up this game and the game music. Despite the fact that sound needs to be fixed so I don't need to go to a therapist by the traumas I get from every earrape sound, game is mid. I'll probably go only for achievements.

I am loving this game. The game play is simple, but the game can be challenging. You set up various defense towers on a predetermined route and add new towers/upgrade towers during the battle. Sounds super easy, but you have to try it to see how challenging it becomes. Definitely going to keep this on on my play often list.

A classic little tower defense with a synthwave aesthetic and catchy soundtrack like it says on the tin. Level difficulty can ramp up quite quickly between levels though new elements get added at frequent enough intervals to keep subsequent levels fresh. Limited tower AI makes thoughtful placement and sequencing important and mechanics like overdrive offer a few different ways to approach levels. Originally picked up Defentron on Switch and enjoyed paying through it with the touchscreen controls which were nicely integrated.

The art style is Tron-like in that it has a very retro arcade feel and the accompanying soundtrack is great too. As someone who is a big fan of tower defense games this game has a lot of potential. I've only just played through the first world and even though it was straight forward with no special maps or enemies there was still a fair bit of strategy used on my part in order to make a perfect run in the first world. I've already recommended this game to a few of my friends.
