About Degrees of Separation
Degrees of Separation is a 2D puzzle-adventure game that requires players to harness the elements of heat and cold to succeed. Two contrasting souls, Ember and Rime, are separated by an enigmatic force, and must use their respective powers to progress through a spectacular world of fantasy and adventure. Players take on the roles of Ember and Rime in single-player and cooperative multiplayer to solve the game's environmental obstacles, drawing on their unique skills to traverse through beautiful, puzzle-filled environments. The two will learn to lean on one another, their individual forces working to bring them closer together...or tear them apart.

A puzzle game best played with two, but often playable solo. Light platforming that is often fine, except when it gets in the way. Puzzles that are often clever, but not usually unsolvably so. Different regions with special powers that seem out of order for their difficulty. Quite nice that you can skip a puzzle here or there, until at the end section they're all mandatory. Oddly, you don't have to beat the game to get all the achievements.3 found this helpful
A very nice couch co-op experience, in which every level has its own mechanic. I especially liked the level design and graphics, there was a nice sense of place conveyed with a small tileset.

Caveat: this is a DNF for me. So the game is hecking beautiful; the graphics are crisp and the color schemes are clear. The responsiveness of the switching of the barrier was amazing programming. The narration was a bit much and could have used an editor, but the voiceover lady was trying her best. I gave up, though, because I was playing it solo instead of a co-op. I figured this would be like Pode, where it really is a back-and-forth. Most of the game is, but there were several scarves that just couldn't be achieved solo because the characters needed to move at the exact same time to do a thing. I finally got frustrated enough that I quit, but if you have two controllers or two people, yes absolutely, beautiful puzzle game (and interesting endings).
