Demons Infernalize

"Demons Infernalize" is yet another ripoff of Vampire Survivors (copyright Poncle, 2023), but to date no legal action has been taken by Poncle against the developer. However, as Tetris Holdings LLC vs Xio Interactive shows us, the aspects of game design the developer stole from Poncle are protected by copyright law. Putting aside the ethical bankrupcy of stealing someone else's game IP, this ripoff is significantly worse than Vampire Survivors, although the graphics are slightly better, it's badly optimised, lacks basic customisation features, and just sucks to play. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. Insultingly, the developer insists that you should play this with a console peasant children's toy gamepad instead of KB+M. bad movement boring af

Thought this demo was cool at first, but it only took a few minutes to see this has a long way to go. The minute you take an upgrade, the mobs counter it. Example - Each time i took a speed boost, it basically lasted for a whole 10secs, then the mobs sped up and right on top of me. Also, there's no way to turn off autofire and autolaim, and there's no meta progression. So if the skill upgrades result in nothing, and you do nothing aside from kiting mobs around in a circle until they overrun you, this isn't even a game. It's an interactive video. If the developer addresses these things and this becomes more of an actual game that provides a rewarding, enjoyable experience, I'll gladly update my review and purchase the full copy (free demo is the only thing available now).

i dont remember what it looked like before 1.0 but right now it doesnt feel great to play, movement has inertia and graphics look odd, like grainy and unclear. i hate not recommending games like this by indie devs but this is not a bullet heaven i will likely ever play again, unfortunately.

I don't even understand? They "rebuilt the game to offer a better gaming experience" to those that have added it to their library. The game didn't change. The graphics did, and it is a huge down grade moving from a more soulstone survivors type of clarity good quality picture to a grainy fuzzy can barely see the things moving on the screen. this isn't even a reasonable thing to do then never updated the game again...
