Desolate Frontiers

Great potential. So far, there were a few bugs (notably in the tutorial). The login feels unnecessary, but I'm sure there's a reason for it. Graphics are good, but the low res map and high res game elements clash a bit.

Desolate Frontiers is a very unusual game because I am not really playing it like a normal survival game or a normal MMO. I am running a logistics company in a future where a climate disaster has broken apart the United States, Canada and Mexico. My job is to move vehicles and cargo between isolated settlements while dealing with weather, resources, people and whatever happens along the roads. The whole thing is built around idle logistics, so I can set up a route and let my convoy keep moving while I come back later to see what happened. That slower pace takes some getting used to, but I like how different it feels. The convoy system is the part I find most interesting. I can choose vehicles, load them with cargo and passengers, plan routes and send them out into the world. I then have to think about what each settlement needs and whether a journey is actually worth making. It is not just about getting from one point to another because I am also managing fuel, vehicle condition, trade and the resources needed to keep everything running.
