You're Detective Bass, one of the guests aboard a luxury cruise, and the captain of the cruise has just informed you that one of the guests has been murdered. Worse - That guest is now a meal. All of the guests and crew are amphibious creatures, by the way. XD Can Detective Bass find the murderer and bring him or her to justice? :o With the gameplay, it mainly consists of moving Detective Bass around different areas of the ship and interviewing guests and crew. You can find out valuable information and use it to further Bass' investigation. Also, you can pick up items found in various rooms. You'll get tasks jotted down in Bass' notebook, which also contains picked up items as well as any valuable info about the guests and crew and a layout of the ship. Hmm something extra fishy is going on here... play as Detective Bass and step up to the fin-tastic challenge to solve the murder of Solomon, who turned into a gourmet meal. Not on Detective Bass' watch! No time to flounder, he's haddock with these criminal SCUM. Red herrings? He won't take the bait! Ok, maybe I should scale down on the fish puns, but yes, this game is certainly not koi about using them. This is a 45min fun little experience that doesn't overstay its welcome. The plot is about as meaningful as you'd expect from a game filled with fish puns and that's ok. I enjoyed the silliness of it all and wished there was some more side content, but I am hoping we continue the series. I did experience a strange glitch where maybe I did things slightly out of order and I kept getting quests for actions I'd already taken, even if I had already talked to that character about it, I had to repeat the previous action to be able to talk to them again to get the quest crossed off. Not sure how that happened but it didn't seem to halt progress at all. Overall, it's a cute, finny and short little detective game that doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. A nice, short, and cute detective game for a cheap price! I really do mean short as this game is essentially completed in under an hour. I had this under my radar for a while when I saw this in upcoming and decided to finally buy it and support small game devs like this. I am glad I did! It's nothing revolutionary or groundbreaking, but it's a nice, funny, and engaging way to spend an hour of your time. For a price that is essentially as cheap as a bottle of soda, I certainly felt like I got my money's worth in my hour-long playthrough. Kind of sad this game flew completely under the radar judging by the really low number of Steam reviews. It certainly deserves a lot more attention for what it delivers! Side note: It's kind of crazy just how many "animal detective" games there are out there. Every time I think I have seen them all with every type of animal protagonist, a new one pops up. Not that I am complaining but it is interesting just how many there are.

Cute short whimsical game, makes you feel like you're on itch. Don't expect a lot of detective work tho.
