About Dezatopia
Strange and unusual creatures inhabited Earth’s underground, unknown to humankind. This was until Momoko, a fashion-obsessed high school girl, accidentally discovered them. Together, they plotted to combine the civilizations above and below the surface to create a new world: Dezatopia.
The player controls Akane and Aoba, Momoko’s schoolmates who were hired to help start construction of the towering subterranean bridge until they discovered the extent of her plans. They decided to thwart the ambitions of Momoko and her loyal beasts with their work ship, the Speleological Fighter Pink Aurora.
The craft has four unique, intuitive weapons to fight back against enemies from all directions. Upgrades and items can also be purchased from a mid-flight shop, but these advantages are countered by a dynamic difficulty system that automatically adjusts to match the player’s skill level to ensure their experience, strategy, technique, and luck are always tested.
Each stage is filled with a variety of surprising gimmicks along with distinctive bosses that await at the end in massive machines. These are arranged in predetermined routes for high replayability. Detailed pixel art and smooth animation bring the underground backgrounds to life, and the retro familiarity of the FM synth soundtrack makes the original melodies memorable. It all combines for a truly vivid audio-visual spectacle.
The cast of characters, from the three human high schoolers to the weird underground creatures, is also filled with personality. Their aspirations and reasons for fighting form the backbone of the quirky story.
This expansive, detailed game can be enjoyed by anyone, anywhere, and it offers an experience like no other. Feel it for yourself.

The sega genesis spirit is great in this one! Dezatopia is one of those games i wish attracted more attention, because it manage to do what it aim to do incredibly right! The game is quite chaotic, but not overly so and is quite generous in term of life, continue and other option, thanks in part to the shop system that appear often when you need it the most. the gameplay is also interesting, as all your weapon are usable all at once, but the less you use the more powerdul the rest get and the stronger the unused weapon are once used again, doubly so as each correspond to the 4 direction of your ship. The game also looks great, giving a 'Treasure' feel in many parts, and there's alot to offer here : one singular route contain enough content for a full game, but there's alot of route available, all sharing about 20+ stages in total, making it perfect for a quick play without feeling overwhelming, and make it easier to want to give it another go shuld you fail a run. The variety at play is also great, both in stages and bosses, and it all kinda feel like a more manic thunderforce game in part. The only 'minus' i can give is the non-existant story...well there IS one but you have to…
For the longest time I regarded shoot-em-ups as a genre that I respected immensely but just did *not* have the skill to play at a satisfying level. I have beaten a few beforehand--Eschatos, Natsuki Chronicles and Mushihimesama to name some--but that's all with the caveat of many, many continues on the easiest of difficulties. Dezatopia was the game that broke that curse for me. A brilliant shmup that manages to have an incredible amount of variety and challenge while still feeling incredibly reasonable and manageable throughout. I cannot recommend it enough if you're at all interested in shmups, as this one will keep you well fed for a while.
First off, shoutout to Emma Essex for introducing me to this game. At first I thought it was just another tough side-scrolling shooter with amazing music, but the art style sealed the deal for me. And what a deal it was! This game adjusts the two main obstacles for me in shmups: wall collision and the health system. Not only do I not take damage for bumping into walls, but the ability to get hit multiple times without instantly losing a life is something I've always appreciated in bullet hell. Out of all the shoot-em-ups I've tried to get into, none were more forgiving to me than this one. If you want a good introduction to the genre, get this game!!!
Really fun unique shmup with quite a lot of stage variety depending on the route you pick at the start.
Shooting game is art Fluid controls, smooth soundtrack, artistic game. The next game of developer Mr. HEY-san. After his previous Mecha Ritz Steel Rondo, he comes NOW! - with Dezatopia and he delivers; oh boy is this game super-duper fun to play! Astonishing shooting game. I was and am mesmerized. So much soul and sweat and hard work put into this effort... Emotional. Ore-sama likes this game the most of all games.
