About Touhou Artificial Dream in Arcadia
✦ AI summary
Explore first-person maze dungeons across Gensokyo as Sumireko, capturing and battling dozens of Touhou character clones using your smartphone's danmaku app in turn-based combat. Manage your phone's battery while building your party, fusing Sleepers into new forms, and unraveling a suspicious clone conspiracy that seems designed specifically for you.
Sumireko Usami is not a normal high-schooler at all. She is so abnormal that even the fantasy land of Gensokyo considers her an anomaly. Truth is, she can visit Gensokyo in her dreams!

Artificial Dream in Arcadia is a first person dungeon crawler where the player, as Sumireko, has to navigate tricky mazes and capture a party of the strongest Touhou characters to assist them in turn-based battles. Go all over Gensokyo and beyond, to solve an incident which seems a little too convenient for Sumireko, seeing as she's the only person in Gensokyo who has a tool to control this infestation of clones: her newly-bought smartphone.
Clones are roaming the lands! They are known as Sleepers and take the shape of established Touhou characters, and as such, almost every Touhou character is represented and playable. Sumireko's phone is equipped with a special app that allows her to capture Sleepers by beating them in a round of Danmaku.

If you win, you can add them to your party, or turn them into useful items! You can also fuse multiple Sleepers together to make something new entirely.
Adding Sleepers to your party will increase battery usage. If your phone runs out of battery charge, you will lose access to Sleepers and your Map, so always come prepared!

A set of desktop wallpapers is included with the game. You can find them in \Touhou Artificial Dream in Arcadia\wallpapers.

This game is a steal at $10. It's like a more modern take on SMT 1 and 2 and at this rate it seems Atlus will never throw us fans a bone so buy this and see what DRPGs are all about. Kudos to the dev for having a number of cool old school death metal references with some of the spell names.1 found this helpful
old-school smt gameplay + touhou = peak
Maze Gameplay.
The best DRPG of the decade. Good game if you like Touhou but are not into SMT. Better game if you like SMT but are not into Touhou. A must play if you fw both. The game balance is perfect with some of the best designed dungeon levels out there. Not to mention, tears in my eyes, you can recruit Sariel. 10/10,
Basically my dream game. A dungeon crawler set in Gensokyo were you can recruit and fight with the entire cast of Touhou. Great combat, a truly amazing soundtrack, fantastic art, and dungeons that have been a joy to explore. I happen to be a huge fan of both Touhou and SMT already, but even if you're not familiar with either, don't let that stop you from playing this.
The phrase that keeps coming to mind while playing TADD is "charmingly old school." I'm still pretty early on, but the first couple of dungeons are fairly easy... knowing the inspiration, I don't think it will stay that way for long. Might finally be time to play SMT 2 when I finish this one.
