"Totally Shmup" is a godawfully bad 2D retro pixel arcade shoot 'em up/bullet hell with no discernable plot or narrative of any interest to gamers, and equally bad gameplay. And wow, 4:3 aspect ratio in 2024? Was this made using a CRT the developer found in a dumpster? Given the quality of this retro... thing... I wouldn't be surprised at all. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else.
