Would I pay the asking price for this game? Yes. Will I invest the time necessary to see everything it has to offer? I'm uncertain at this point. There are two main activities in this game: tower defence combat and shopping for upgrades in town. Of these two activities, contrary to what I would expect, it is the town that receives the most frequent and exciting changes as you play. I'm intrigued to see what I unlock after each combat level I clear. However, the core gameplay loop remains remarkably static and slow to change. I just passed level 15 and still have yet to unlock the game's speed modifier, only have 3 units to work with, and 3 enemies to fight (as well as the end of level boss, who so far has been the same each level). I imagine there are many more unit types to unlock and more complex enemies to think around later in the game, but so far meaningful changes have arrived in a trickle, rather than a stream. Again, what gives me reassurance that my time invested on the battlefield may well be rewarded are the changes the town constantly experiences. I like 8 bit games, rpg and tower defense, so, I bought this game. It seem that it's development was treated with as much care as a used up crash dummy. It's bad, for several reasons. Concept: The game is suposed to be a plant v/s zombies kind of game, but it does not have any kind of personality, it is slow in both gameplay, stage transitions, and with little gameplay variety. It is very repetitive and the options for game development, are so limited that is seems like an unfinished game. Lore: As an RPG, it has absolutely nothing. There is a city, but people have nothing about themselves, nor is the world or place developed, I don't know what the city is called nor know nothing about it's people, making you not only not care, but the only bits of lore, are to force an explanation as to why the game limits your game play early on. Pacing: The game is slow. I don't mean mean in game play, but as a game. It has a speed un option up to 3x while playing, but it works as a stage by stage tower defense and the city only works as a very boring and cumbersome menu screen between stages that does nothing for the story, but make you wonder if it was made on purpose to make the game slo…
