Divine Combat

Divine Combat is a turn-based strategy game wherein you lead a team to victory against another team. Each team is led by a "Divine", or a being of immense power. Your goal is to win every battle and get the perfect team. In the main hub, walk around in 3rd person and talk to NPCs. You can also upgrade your units and purchase items from the shop in the hub level. In the combat zone, you will have a team of 6 characters and will fight an enemy team to the death in a top-down grid view. All units will automatically find the best path to a location, so you will not have to manually plan moving out each unit, they will do it automatically.

"Divine Combat" is an extremely simple, barebones and amateurish turn based tactical combat game with an ancient/fantasy theme. What do you do in the game? Sort out your team, then go into the fight portal and have a nice fight with your 6 dudes against the enemy. The problem is this is really, really rough around the edges, unpolished, with bad quality assets, janky gameplay... it's just too low quality to recommend, and that undoubedtly led to this failing completely. The graphics aren't great. That's understandably be turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. A TBS in Ancient Rome/fantasy setting. Unplayable. It's not even a prototype. The game has 2 scenes: 1) training, 2) combat. In the training scene you run around a small area. The character's leg animation is too slow, so there is an impression that he is skating. The 3D geometry is unlit. Mouse Y movement is flipped, making it uncomfortable to look around - no option to flip Y back. When you enter a certain area, a dialog appears where you spend "renown" points to upgrade your units. The upgrades are unbalanced. E.g. it costs 10 renown points to add 1 hit point to a unit (when, say, it already has 25), and the same to add 1 attack range (e.g. increase it from 1 to 2). I got the archer to 18 attack range. You can even give unlimited attack range to melee units. My spearman had an attack range of 7. So, this is just broken. In the combat scene, there is a greeting text message which you just can't get rid of. It stays there, there is no button to close it. During combat, you can move the mouse and see colored squares showing movement and attack range (?). But clicks do nothing. There is even no way to quit the game. I had to Alt+F4.
