✦ AI summary

Players are divided on this turn-based strategy game. Those who appreciate it praise it as an excellent introduction to the genre with solid fundamentals and teaching mechanics, though others criticize it as an asset flip lacking originality and merit as a real game. Common complaints center on clumsy controls that require unnecessary clicks, unclear tutorials, and an overall unpolished feel that makes it seem like a student project rather than a finished product.
Warning: Asset Flip! Grid Dungeons is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store assets, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
In this case, the asset flipper took a bunch of Synty assets from the Unity Asset Store and dropped them on a bare bones "dungeon crawler" turn based strategy sample of rather shoddy code, paid $100 to drop this on Steam where it was promptly ignored by everyone. Gamers can smell an asset flip from a mile away. It has no value or merit as a real game. At best this could be described as some kind of barebones tech demo/proof of concept, but that doesn't excuse this being published on Steam with nothing but a bunch of placeholder assets. On the upside at least the developer isn't trying to get your money for Synty's assets, but the fundamental truth beneath asset flips is still the same. When developers are unable to do the job of a real game developer and create high quality game assets, or lack the budget to hire genuine artists, it turns o…

4/10 Fantasy TBS TLDR: Looks like some student project. It's a functional TBS game that would earn an excellent grade in college, if a grade was all the dev was after. But it just doesn't play well, mostly due to clumsy controls that beg for obvious improvements Good: - free So-so: - graphics are passable for a free indie game: low-poly animated 3D fantasy warriors and dungeon levels Bad: - controls are clumsy and require extra clicks for no reason. E.g. to move you need to click on "Move" button and then on a tile. Clearly, a simple click on an empty tile should just order to move there since there is no other action possible on an empty tile anyway. Similarly, with just 1 attack type, a simple left click on an enemy (while your soldier is selected) should perform the attack. And even the "interact" button isn't needed because it would be enough to just left-click on the trap object while standing next to it. Even if a character learns more abilities, still I'd say the left click on an enemy should just perform the default attack. - why is the _right_ click selecting characters? That's confusing, and no game does it like that. Must be just the left click. Since left click on…
