Downtown Jam

[h1] Worst skating game with cats. No content and overall lack of polish. [/h1]

Love cats and also was driving skate when was a kid, so this game got potential but mechanics and landing is not that perfect. I wish it was some quests or missions like in Tony Hawk's games but it's simply 3 levels of speed racing with skate. Any way i give thumbs up and for me game is meant to play from 15-30 minutes, because it's too short.

"Downtown Jam" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from University of Gloucester in the UK. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students made a very mediocre skateboarding game for furries, with low poly assets, janky gameplay, zero polish, and zero bugfixing. As a student project and not a full, real game, there's only three levels, and none of them are good.
