In the near future, an ominous red star suddenly appears in the sky. Its presence is about to bring about the extinction of all life on Earth. The unified government proposes an evacuation project to take all of mankind into space, but in order to make the seemingly impossible project a reality, 'felixes' are brought into the world. Engineered to be highly intelligent with perpetual youth and longevity, the genetically modified superhuman felixes stand as humanity's only hope for survival.
Sion, the most gifted of the felixes, has been kept in a research facility built on a solitary island for the past hundred years. Her sole purpose, saving all of humanity. Ryou Haruna, a soldier from the Earth's unified government is sent to watch over Sion, who desperately seeks freedom from the military that's imprisoning her. Earth's last love story is about to begin.

Eden tosses aside the traditional sprite and talking heads conventions used by many visual novels and instead employs a far more cinematic approach consisting of almost all event illustrations. Told using a widescreen resolution of 1024 x 640, eden promises a play-experience more akin to enjoying a movie than reading a book. We hope that this new approach to the visual novel medium provides a much more enjoyable experience for everyone.

There are visual novels that tell a sad story, and then there are visual novels that leave a permanent mark on your heart. *eden* is firmly in the latter category. Set on a dying Earth facing inevitable destruction, the story follows Ryou Haruna and Sion, a genetically engineered genius who devoted nearly a century of her life to ensuring humanity's survival. The premise sounds grand and science-fiction heavy, but at its core, *eden* is an intimate story about love, purpose, sacrifice, and finding meaning in the limited time we are given. The scale of the world's tragedy only serves to make the personal moments feel even more precious. What impressed me most is how maturely the story handles its themes. Rather than relying on constant drama or shocking twists, it slowly builds an atmosphere of inevitability. Decent short story, the male lead never really grew on me by the end but I liked the characterization for Sion and Elica. It's also a pretty simple and predictable story but enjoyable nevertheless2 found this helpful
Idk if there are any spoilers in my opinion but still be cautious reading that if u are about to play it. A beautiful love story that made me think about cherishing important relationships and respecting the time on this planet that i was given. It touches the themes of affection and making the most out of the last moments of life. I was kinda moved in the end but the outcome was easy to figure out way before it happened but i think it's even better looking at the fact that at some point the characters also pretty much know how and when their life will come to an end. Over all it's worth playing.1 found this helpful
