Dragon Detective: A Friend from the Shadows

Finished. I really enjoyed this, speaking as a massive fan of AA and AA-likes. This game wears its inspiration on its sleeves with a furry twist and a fun gimmick of the mc using all of his senses for investigation (including taste to lick stuff). The characters were distinct and endearing in terms of writing, brought to life by wonderfully hand-drawn designs and even little breathing animations. The backgrounds were also excellent. Architecture matches the art style used with the characters and each investigation scene was drawn with careful consideration to details, which is crucial for a detective game The music captures the vibe of being a detective perfectly, always fit the mood of the scenes they're used in, and is just long enough to not overstay its welcome I enjoyed all 4 cases. They were all intriguing and had a good sense of progression in terms of complexity. It's a detective vn so I can't really be specific without spoiling the experience. They all have their separate mysteries and murders to solve. But they all contribute elements to the overall worldbuilding as well as the greater plot. I'd let Noxley taste me EDIT: Ok having finished the game, I have some thoughts. I like the presentation a lot; the art is excellent and I love the soundtrack. I think the first case has the best atmosphere and use of the setting. How the ending frames a certain choice bothers me, but I get what the author was going for. I'd still let Noxley taste me

If you're in the mood for an "Ace Attorney"-like detective game, you can't go wrong with [i]Dragon Detective: A Friend from the Shadows[/i]. A cozy art style, interesting world building, well written characters and bopping soundtrack made this a joy to play.

Well-made game where we play as a detective in different locations and investigating cases. Well-written dialogues, good plot, awesome artworks and good music, other words awesome game.

A great visual novel/mystery game in the spirit of Ace Attorney with some real heft to its world and characters! Highly reccomended to lovers of the genre.
