About Dragonwake
Dragonwake is an ASCII roguelike set in Valoria, the land once ruled by the old empire of Istaris before the Starfall. Your heirloom, a blackglass star amulet, draws you there just as the primordial dragon begins to stir.
Dragonwake is built to feel like a solo old-school D&D-inspired campaign in roguelike form: race, class, attributes, saves, spells, quests, towns, ruins, and dangerous dungeon crawls. The rules aim for a 1e/2e-era feel, modified for smooth roguelike play.
Embark on a long and detailed quest line across an expansive world map, with towns, quest hubs, caves, tombs, mines, towers, keeps, old ruins, and plenty of replayability. Choose a race and class, then begin your road toward the Sundering Scar. Good luck.

Really enjoyable traditional roguelike, in the style of ADOM. The AD&D-type mechanics keep things interesting, but can feel limiting at times. Soundtrack is lovely. In ASCII mode some symbols get re-used a lot, which can be a little confusing, but its never a huge issue. Not a big fan of how the tileset looks, but I prefer the ASCII for games like this most of the time anyway. A few nitpicks (and bear in mind its still in active development), but overall a very good experience.7 found this helpful
Cool game all in all. I hope the tileset gets a overhaul down the road.3 found this helpful
Simply fabulous! It's a close approximation of early AD&D (1E-2E era) and has that feel. Single character dungeon crawl with world exploration, quests, semi-random dungeons, etc. Your choice of ascii or graphical interface, a roguelike feel with lots of character creation options. The dev is also VERY responsive to bugfixes - sometimes addressing issues with a patch the next day. Great value, fantastic gameplay, plenty of content. 10/102 found this helpful
