Overall, meh. I like it but I don't like it enough to recommend it unless it's on sale under $20 Pros: Soundtrack. Great looking cars, just look at the screenshots (this is what made me want the game initially) Neutral: Gameplay. Cons: No free roam was a huge turn off for me. It's expensive. Story, was not for me (yes you can skip cutscenes, but it's like 2 minutes of "racing" and 5 minutes of yapping)
Get this game if it is on sale
This is a very unique arcade racer where you steer with both controller joysticks. The overall vibe of the game is very nostalgic, its a game from the 2000's with modern graphics. this is an honest to goodness videogame, free of modernt bloat, that respects you and its universe. The OST is awesome. PvP is simple but rich with strategy that leads to 1st place not always being the place to be. I would wholeheartedly recommend this game if they kept adding content to the game, but there unfortunately just isnt enough stuff in the game for me to fully recommend Screamer at its full price.
That said, if this is on sale it's absolutely worth your money
One of if not the most fun arcade racers I've ever played. This game's soundtrack is also the best I've ever heard imo, I hope it gets nominated for the game awards or something.
Like a shooting star... Burn!
Screamer has been a pleasant surprise for me. At first I was intrigued by the game and its use of differing art styles. All of the characters are anime-inspired whilst the cars themselves are photorealistic. At first I thought this represented a lack of identity or conflict between artists, but as I played more and more of the game it became increasingly clear that Screamer is a passion project through and through. It's a fantastic arcade racer and if you have any interest whatsoever, do yourself a favour and pick up a copy. I was hesitant at first due to what I had heard about the controls, and waited for the 50% sale. However, having played so much of it and loved my time with it, I could've paid full price and still got more than my money's worth out of it. The game features a roster of characters from around the globe, each speaking their own native tongue but understanding each other fluently thanks to the Universal Translator equivalent. If you've ever played Tekken you'll be used to having everyone understand all known languages implicitly. As a result, there's a lot of reading when it comes to dialogue, but I don't mind that. T…

funny dialogue, great animation. It takes a little bit to learn the controls and the drifting, but once you get the hang of it it's really fun.
