I’m going to start with a "WOW!" For an independent developer and for a first game released: it really was a very pleasant experience! A fast game (about 1h30) with a beautiful cell-shading art-style and music that is a bit repetitive but that sets the mood! The design of the levels is very good and we have different and original ways to follow the levels. I really liked the small cinematic sequences and some references in the game! The voice acting is really cool and funny! You seem to have a good time recording the lines! There are some bugs but they do not break the game completely and they did not prevent me from having a good time. Congratulations on your first game, keep up the good work and original ideas!

This game is not very good.....like, it's not very good at all. For $5 I guess it could be worse but I still did not like it very much and I apologize if this review comes off as harsh. It genuinely feels like a terrible and hollow imitation of Hi-Fi Rush with none of the quality that Hi-Fi had. The visuals look terrible with in-engine cutscenes that remind me of Fairly Odd Parents : Breakin' Da Rules of all things. The gameplay is honestly some of the worst I've had to experience in an action game and lacks any of the sauce the game it's seemingly trying to be had while also failing to do even basic mechanics correctly. The story is borderline non-existent (especially given it only took 88 minutes for me to beat) and thus nothing about this game's characters or world do anything to stick in my mind. And I'm not against games taking clear inspiration from other games but Drumguy really doesn't feel like a game inspired by Hi-Fi Rush to me, it feels like a shameless copy of Hi-Fi Rush's homework without any understanding of what made that game work. Honestly. I hope this developer's next game is a lot better and I am 100% here to support them continuing their career as a develop…
