About Dung Beetle Adventure
Once upon a time there was a small dung beetle, and like most dung beetles it was hungry. Mushroom season was coming to an end, but there were still rosetops to be found, a favourite in the beetle community.
When morning came purple dung beetles flocked out of their homes dead-set on getting their tiny insect hands on the much sought-after treat. In the end, only one single beetle remained, and it just so happens to be the hero of our story. With its broken wings everything seemed doomed... But maybe there is hope left for a hurt, hungry, but inventive dung beetle?

This game is absolutely beautiful, it was the best piece of visual literature i have seen in my life. This changes me. I was moved to tears when Dung Beetles mushroom was stolen, but as God says in the Beatitudes: blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God, so the Dung Beetle is rewarded for his hardships with endless mushrooms. "Dung Beetle Adventure" is a rather mediocre, if at least genuinely made 2D side scrolling adventure game with some amateurish illustrated retro type assets. What do you do in the game? You guide a dung beetle with damaged wings to go do dung beetle stuff. This involves side scrolling adventure game movement across various screens, and some point and click adventuring. The sad part is, this isn't even the best dung beetle themed game on Steam. So this looks like an old 1990's Adobe Flash game that you might play in a web browser, and the problem there is obviously Steam wasn't intended to try compete with Chrome and Firefox. If it can be done in a web browser, it's not even close to a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That's a problem. On the topic of visuals, the weak looking 2D retro assets seem like they'd be more at home in a browser game or a mobile app. 3D graphics accelerators hit the mainstream of PC gaming in the mid 1990's with cards like the ATI Rage and Voodoo3D, there's no excuse for such poor 2D graphics in 2025. That alone is enough to disqualify this for recommendation. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free…
