The concept of this game is wildly different than any other game I've ever played on Steam. I'm not done with the game yet, but it requires some serious thinking and research, even extending to tools and resources outside of the game. It's the first real ARG I've personally played on Steam that stretches beyond the confines of the application itself. Highly recommended for the technical and curious minded folks. The only potential downfall I can see is that the game length is pretty short. I was able to clear it in less than an hour.

I love a bite-sized ARG, especially one that lets you relive HTML 1.0 in the flesh. Let's not talk about how my failure to [ /spoiler ] correctly led to me looking at the source code of every single website page instead of just [ /spoiler, or am I just protecting my ego?]. I hope the devs have fun checking the server logs and seeing the same dork visit the same pages over and over. Both endings got me hyped for the sequel, where I expect I will once again waste time instead of just [ /spoiler ].

i recommend this game if you are into these types of games. It makes you use your brain and a decoder to help you figure out what needs to be done before moving onto the next stage. you will figure it out and become a pro at this.

"Echoes of MK-ULTRA" is one of those desktop simulator/hacking games (frankly that could have been done in HTML5). This one has you pretending it's the 1990's, and Milli Vanilli is really a top band, and you have a special hacking thing stolen from DARPA and you use it to pretend you're Neo from the Matrix, except without the Matrix, you're just a hacker guy alone at home. That would have been a boring movie. Just like this is a boring game... it doesn't closely resemble any real hacking, at best it's a lame adventure game that could have been done in a browser. What do you do in the game? Type in pretend commands to pretend you're a hacker, wonder why this browser game doesn't have tabs like Chrome, uninstall because you got bored. You can't even shoot guns in this game. For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static text/images... it might as well be a web page. It's functionally no different from a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC. The graphics aren't great, Basi…

🧠 Echoes of MK Ultra — Review Developer: Pedro Macedo Camacho Release Date: June 2023 Genre: Turn-based Strategy / Narrative Puzzle Platform: PC (Steam) 🎯 Overview Echoes of MK Ultra throws you into the murky, morally twisted world of the CIA's infamous mind control experiments. You don’t play the hero—you are the interrogator, tasked with breaking prisoners and turning them into sleeper agents. It’s bold, dark, and unapologetically psychological. 🕹️ Gameplay This isn’t your typical tactics game. Each mission is a mental chess match—you juggle stress, trauma, obedience, and memory. You decide how to “re-educate” prisoners through: Brainwashing techniques Propaganda Psy-ops conditioning Each prisoner responds differently—some comply, others resist, and some completely snap. Your tools are effective, but brutal. Every choice feels like playing God. Think: Papers, Please meets XCOM, but without guns—just words and control. 🎭 Narrative & Themes The story is tight, disturbing, and based on real history (Project MKUltra). You’ll question your morality with every click. It's not horror in the usual sense—it’s psychological discomfort. The kind that sticks. Major themes: Gove…
