About Elton Manor: Requiem of the Cursed Roses

◆ Story

"If you're asking about the rumours…"
"It could only be that one, I suppose?" "Actually... the master once had a lover."
At the beginning of the 20th century, in a quiet manor isolated from the turbulent times, a “maid”, Anna worked diligently every day and led a monotonous and peaceful life.
However, during an unexpected flashback, the gaps in his memory swept over him. Abnormal colleagues, confused gender, empty cognition, vague dreams...the tranquillity in the past was suddenly replaced by a weird atmosphere. While Anna was at a loss, time began to flow. A group of strangers visited the manor, and a long-hidden mystery quietly unfolded. The prologue started. As unexpected yet prearranged events took place after another, the strange visitors who claimed to be the family members of the owner of the manor did not bother to hide their abnormal behaviours. Were the various contradictions in their identities, ages, and relationships related to the uneasiness they showed? Some words that shouldn't exist sounded in Anna's ears. What did they have to do with the story?
The curtain rose, and the requiem of fate began to play. Would "Anna" be pushed to the edge of the unknown, or would he jump into the vortex at the centre of the story?

Fairly okay game. It's more of a mystery-solving game, with a few brief mini-games in between. The BL element is rather secondary. The story was interesting and wasn't too drawn out. Characters were a bit shallow but it worked with the story. The minigames were a bit simple but the timed ones were annoying. I think you can complete the game without doing every minigame though.

Game was decent for what it was, my only major complaint is that it really tested my patience in the final third or fourth of it. But even then, that’s just because I have… unique views regarding the main character’s past. I see their decisions as the type of thing they should’ve fully committed too, though the game portrays them as mistakes he had to be saved from. Most people probably won’t take issue with the portrayal, though. It was written for people who would disagree with me.

hmm... i have mixed feelings about it. the mystery plot and horror aspect of the game were interesting, but the character development, backstories, and pretty much everything else about the story were quite shallow and one-dimensional. the english localization was also tough to swallow; mainly, the weird decision of a past-tense writing style was uncomfortable to read and difficult to get used to in this game format, as it felt more like the story was being recounted rather than watching it unfold in real-time. the conclusion was also deeply unsatisfying in my opinion.
