Detective Agency: Murder at the Manor

This is not a full review yet, as I have been unable to complete the game so far. But I would like to inform other Steam users about the game's many issues. First, let me address what this game does well: The murder case seems fairly elaborate and quite interesting, there are a lot of details to discover. You'll find clues by interrogating suspects and by investigating objects, the latter is implemented in an especially immersive way - for example, you move objects on a desk until you reveal a book, then you open the book to reveal a clue. Lastly, the graphics and environments look nice (even though there's a lot of copy-pasting going on). Now to the things that the game doesn't do well - this will unfortunately be a longer list. 1. The English translation is terrible, to the point where the text is either unintelligible or gives you false information. For a detective game where information matters, this is unacceptable. In every single dialog, I have to guess what the writer actually meant to say, because the text itself makes absolutely no sense. Here are a few examples: a) The text very often uses incorrect pronouns. The butler tells you that "my wife died 14 years ago", but…

This game is super cute, creative and fun! The English translation is unfortunately awful and really the only thing that is keeping me from playing through the game multiple times. I managed to complete my first attempt in three hours and had a great time, but most of the time I was barely able to comprehend the gist of the story. In the end I wasn't able to catch the killer and it felt more like it was because I didn't understand the mechanics of the clue system OR what anyone was saying! I'm praying the developers hire someone to really iron out the English, at which point I'll definitely start my second attempt!
