About Gothic Murder: Adventure That Changes Destiny

Can she, a maid in an earl's household, change the fate of the lord she serves?
An original mystery game, developed by Orange--creator of many mystery ADVs, such as the "Jake Hunter Detective Story" series.
In each chapter, tragedy will befall our heroine, unless the player can stop them. There are five incidents to solve.

{Story}
Our story begins in early 20th-century England, at the manor of an eminent earl.
Our heroine, a maid at this manor, often has dreams that foretell the death of the people around her. Her latest dream, has warned her that the life of the lord she serves is in danger.
As the manor buzzes with talks over the inheritance and will of the previous earl, a terrifying and sinister plot unfurls...
In order to save her lord's life, our heroine, with the information her dream has given her, races to find out the truth--

{System Description}
Examine the manor and formulate your reasoning based on the information you collect. Simple, intuitive controls will help you solve the mystery.
If your reasoning fails, the lord's deadly fate is sealed. If you can help him survive, a secret love awaits...?
It's a game that anyone can easily enjoy and experience all kinds of excitement.

A fun, in a way classical murder mystery VN with many investigations for the player to solve! The premise is intriguing (albeit a bit funny); the maid-protagonist spontaneously becomes an improvised detective who needs to rescue her pathetic master from daily murder attempts. The riddles and cases are enthralling and pretty clever, without crossing the line to frustration-inducing. Overall, I found the plot well-paced and engaging all along! The setting has a fancy gothic aesthetic, maintained by lovely art and immersive soundtrack. To be honest, I wish that the romance and insight on the side characters were more fleshed out in the endings, however since this story mainly focuses on the actual process of mystery-solving, rather than characters, I perceive this as an intended choice, which actually works well. Though I would've loved to receive more information on some key details of the main reveal.. Altogether, it's a sweet and entertaining experience that does a great job at involving the player!

It is not a very good game, but not a very bad game either. I would give this game a 3.5/5 star as it is not a very long game However, please note that this is not really a dating sim game that you are looking for, it is a full on "simple-detective" visual novel, and have a little ending with either one of the two characters at the ending there, but it is only a merely short 1 min or lesser depending on your reading speed. I got to admit that the art is very great, and the music is good too. However, the story line is not really that fascinating compared to most other visual novel that I read. Each chapter is about less than an hour, but the Final Chapter is less than 30 minutes, with the ending with one of the two characters is less than a min. So with 5 chapters + 2 ending, the total playtime for this game is about 4 hours and 30 mins at most. [P.S My total playtime is not accurate as shown on steam as I sometimes will daydream when I read halfway or reply texts or when off to do some chores while leaving my game running] My most favourite character, is the chef, Jack or to say the
the real "Irving"
(This is rather kinda of a huge spoiler so don't click it…

(Confirmed. NOT an Otome game. At least not in the aspect of you chasing this one guy or the other. There *is* a tiny bit of "sweet moments" amount... Depending on the choices you make... But it's mostly all about the mystery. If you survive, depending on route, you will get a CG for either E or Ir... But there is never any romance (that you might expect)/kissing, so ensure you are 99.9% here for the mystery. Yes.) I may have wanted this game for the "Otome" tag... But the mystery was where it was at. I used to read mysteries a lot as a kid/teen. Then I grew up and started to see all the plot holes and issues that came with those books. I should've just read something different... Like this. And I am glad I did. It made me remember why I enjoyed these in the first place. And no, this mystery isn't so complicated... That you need to be a genius to solve it. You *will* know if you fail however. XD It's also fun how they presented "questioning" rounds as "Boss Battles". Lol. Even if you can figure out one or two plot twists, there are still plenty to go around. It gets a bit nutty. Overall: A rather worthy/good experience/read for me.

This is a fun mystery otome game. Even if some of the explanations were odd the game is really forgiving and I had fun solving mysteries and the romance with Irving was cute. While there are technically two routes Ewens route had only a few bonus scenes and he did not get a lot of focus. This game really only has one route which is fine the one route is substantial and worth the 12 dollar price.

Quite short, but fun murder mystery. Two good endings with CG where she ends up with either the black-haired guy or the white-haired guy.

A cute little Mystery VN. The quality of the UI, writing, and art make it worth the regular price. This game does go on sale pretty often though so you'll have plenty of chances there. It took me 5 and a half hours to get every ending. Navigating all the bad endings is very easy to do thanks to the chart. I like that despite not being an Otome game, you can have an ending with each of the two main guys who are reasonably fleshed out. The puzzles were nicely varied but overall not too difficult-- only really being stumped by one of them which left me feeling a bit silly I didn't figure it out sooner lol Hoping the DLC / Sequel (?) for this game also gets translated into English!
