About The Crimson Maid
"How terrible to think that such a bright and noble man is nearing his end. What will we do without our pillar?"
Estranged for a couple of years, a young man rushes back to his childhood home. Dismayed by the news of his father losing his sight and inching closer to his demise, Marius, a priest in training, suspends his long studies at the seminary to be close in his final days to the man who taught him dignity and stalwartness. Under the gloom of impending death, the oldest son of honorable Leon Rosenthal can’t conceive the encroaching events that his arrival will unfold, equally exhilarating and petrifying. "I've met her. Lord, this was not the first impression I wanted to make!"
Play as Marius as he returns to his childhood home in an attempt to reconnect with his ailing father, stern mother and overwhelmed younger brother. Much to your surprise, your household now employs an alluring young maid, Irina, who charms you from the first sight. But your blossoming romance will soon be tested as a shocking death shakes the feeble balance of this noble family. "You took my life away from me, tried to bury me in suffering. All that you gave and all that I was, you took away until I was nothing but a bitter shadow of my former self."
The Crimson Maid is an adventure game focused on dialogues, exploration and light puzzle solving. Speak to Irina and your family to discover how they feel, their deep desires and what they may be hiding. Rummage around the mansion and the surrounding estate for clues, optional puzzles, misplaced documents and insights into the family and its past. Embark on a journey of self discovery as Marius comes to terms with his choices, their consequences and the unexpected legacy of his lineage.

Finished my first playthrough of this delightful game and found it even more exciting, than expected. Not only we have a more dark romance here, by a twist in an event, we learn more about our father's past, which will influence our next steps or not, that is upon us, to decide. According to the dev, there are four endings, I achieved one, and I think, it could be the best - for me, as I wanted to reach a happy ending. When you like mysteries and romance, a good story, puzzles ... it is a must! Highly recommended, don't miss this game7 found this helpful
Beautiful, charming and mysterious - just like the real heroine of this twisted story!
Paying this game feels like reading a short late Victorian/early Edwardian novel. Its music, gorgeous detailed interiors, and atmosphere transport you straight to the early 1900s. And just like not every novel has to be a masterpiece, there are smaller stories that still deserve your attention and ones that completely hook you for an evening and leave you wanting more. (That's why I bought their other game :3) This isn't a big game, but its art, interiors, classical music, atmosphere, characters, and story make it worth experiencing. You should be prepared for:

Cheap animations,
A lot of reading, since the game isn't fully voiced,
Music that can occasionally become repetitive,
A predictable story, with a few twists that may disappoint you or make you laugh if you're not a fan of that kind of reveal,
"I can fix her" trope,
Very simple puzzles,
AI art
That said, the good far outweighs the negatives. The story is still engaging and enjoyable, exploration is interesting and it pays off, the puzzles are satisfying …3 found this helpful
In a time when so many games focus on endless action and recycled mechanics, The Crimson Maid reminded me why I fell in love with story-driven games in the first place. What immediately caught my attention was the main character, who gave me serious Colin Firth vibes, elegant, charismatic, and perfectly suited to the game's atmosphere. It might sound like a small detail, but it added a lot to the overall experience for me. What I appreciated most is that this game has something genuine to say. Not every moment is perfectly placed or polished to absolute perfection, but that's part of its charm. It feels authentic. You can tell the developers wanted to tell a meaningful story rather than simply follow industry trends. Games with heart and a strong narrative are becoming increasingly rare these days, and The Crimson Maid delivers exactly that. The atmosphere, the mystery, and the emotional undertones kept me invested throughout the experience. On top of that, it's a high-quality Romanian production, and I'm genuinely happy to see local developers creating something this ambitious and memorable. Projects like this deserve support. This is a hidden gem for sure. There were things I expected, and certain things I would've NEVER expected. If you know, you know. But it's a good mystery thriller with a loving romance story. I do think the game is a bit slow to start, but makes a big leap halfway through that keeps it's pace towards the end. There was one puzzle that took me a while, but overall the puzzles are pretty easy. The worldbuilding is good and there's plenty of detail in the game despite it being in a pretty small location. I do have to say that while the art is beautiful, it icks me that AI has been involved with it. I just hope it's been used more as a tool rather than the replacing of talented people, because I can see talented people worked on this game. All in all, solid fun game. Worth a single playthrough IMO. The kind of game I didn't know I was looking for until I found it.3 found this helpful

This game was fine and felt fun but its definetly a play maybe 3 times type of game. the story is short and the choices are kinda bare I feel like if it had more of a slow burn and like 5 or 6 more hours of gameplay showing them getting to know eachother or his family more it would have been better. The graphics were good and I recommend playing if you want a chill game that has some cute moments and you can finish in a sitting.1 found this helpful
