London: Echoes of the Past

I have mixed feelings towards this game. On one hand, the art is fantastic and definitely a highlight. The relationships are also well done in my opinion. The mystery is lacking though, I'm a big fan of golden age mysteries and honkaku so it could be an issue with me rather than the game. I went in expecting a mystery with clues littered through the story but it felt more focused on the romance and the character's histories with each other. The detective angle felt more like an artistic theme rather than the genre. As long as you go in with that expectation, I'd recommend it but if you're solely looking for a mystery game, I wouldn't recommend it. That said, it's not like the romance is hidden in marketing by a long shot so I think my disappointment in the mystery was more a result of who I am rather than the game being misleading so I'd chosen the recommend option on the Steam review choice.

It’s good a few hours in. I’ll update when I either complete it or consider myself done. Art is beautiful. Story is pretty good, with a little romance in a look to the past scene. Wish they’d allow for larger text though. It’s hard to read on my SteamDeck. Edit: Completed game and I still recommend it. It’s about a 4-6 hour, good story and I liked the protagonist and her personal journey and past recollections.

This game captured my heart. Truly a masterpiece of Visual novel. Stunning Art , Captivating story and beautiful music. I was captivated and completed this game on one breath. Character design is impossible to dislike , both art and writing is almost perfect . Story is fairly simple and is not very complex yet still captivates your heart. I wont be describing the story itself because i truly thing that this game is must play if you care about yuri visual novels or jut like short good stories. My only gripe with it is that its kinda short but i guess its ok , it also features 3 endings depending on your choices. Translation is good , it has few mistakes but they doesnt matter at all , its on the very solid level and you will have to troubles reading this wonderful story. I dont see any reason to write more , if you are reading this and considering buying this game -YOU SHOULD BUY AND PLAY IT , especially when its that cheap. Must play and 10/10 without any objections from me. Truly another beautiful Chinese work of yuri art , i hope to see more of such games (Chinese yuri) will be translated in the future.

A must-read vn that makes the most of it's short runtime. The translation team has done a phenomenal job conveying tension and painting vivid pictures with the prose, and this mixes together with its great artwork and ost to really put you into the feeling of an old timey noir detective. Later on in the game the translations have noticeably more syntax errors and at the very end some names still haven't been translated to pinyin, but I have confidence this'll be resolved in future updates and these minor errors were hardly enough to shake my immersion. I'd love to see more, longer works from this studio going forward and its one of my favorite yuri works despite how short it is!

Do not stream this game on YouTube, almost every track has a Content ID match that demonetizes the stream. Outside of that, the game's alright, but it suffers from some severe pacing issues. About 50% of the game is spent in one singular overly long flashback sequence; this would have been less of a problem if it was broken up a bit more by present-day events and then brought up in parts where those parts were relevant. The stand-out highlight moment of the game for me was the moment when [spoiler]Yaqiong and Queenie exchange the sign/countersign in the flower shop[/spoiler]. The scene absolutely killed me and brought me close to tears; you can clearly see the absolute moment of realization both characters have and every aspect of the two's lives becoming clear to each other. Honorable mention to [spoiler]Queenie tasting a tear from Yaqiong's cheek in the flashback[/spoiler]... What A Totally Normal Thing For Two Heterosexual Women To Do Together! *smiles at the camera* [b]EDIT:[/b] After finally finishing the endings and side stories for both characters, I can comfortably say that this was a really good experience with satisfying romance.
