So after a few hours of play, I can't recommend this title. The translation is the biggest issue: whomever is writing the English localization does not keep tenses consistent, routinely misspells words, and the phrasing becomes jarring and distracting. The presence of clues and characters that are unknown to the player in the notebook menu takes away suspense. Every text bullet takes a few moment to parse, and that's not fun for a VN, which depends on immersion for a great experience. I don't mean to criticize translated works--but having someone review the English for idiom, grammar, and readability is an important part of localization. The art is good but routinely contradicts the text: London is described as gray and dismal but every sky background is bright blue and sunny. There is supposed to be a fire in the hearth but it is dark on thr screen, etc. Needs some more work.5 found this helpful
London: Echoes of the Past, developed and published by Stellar Artificer Games, is a story-driven visual novel that places its full confidence in narrative depth, character relationships, and emotional tension rather than mechanical complexity. Set against a stylized version of 1930s London, the game weaves together elements of mystery and romance into a focused experience that leans heavily on atmosphere and player choice. It is not designed to overwhelm with gameplay systems, but instead to draw players into a carefully constructed narrative where every interaction carries weight. The story centers on a private investigator drawn into a strange case involving a woman presumed dead who has inexplicably resurfaced. From this premise, the narrative unfolds into a layered exploration of identity, memory, and unresolved relationships. Rather than presenting a straightforward mystery, the game gradually reveals its plot through dialogue and character-driven moments, allowing the emotional stakes to build alongside the investigative thread. The pacing is deliberate, often prioritizing character development over immediate answers, which gives the story a more intimate and reflective ton…3 found this helpful
It was a nice little read! I thoroughly enjoyed it all the way throughout. I have to say that the translation is at times a little choppy (makes sense given the game's original language is Chinese), but that didn't take away from the experience at all, I simply thought it was worth mentioning. Other than that, the art is absolutely stunning and the story structure and pacing is overall really good! Would recommend!3 found this helpful
I need to go through the other endings one of these days (especially since the ending I got didn't have any Yuri) but overall it's just kind of okay. Good art and music and there's some interesting character threads it pulls at but it also both overcomplicates the main story as it's going on and oversimplifies it once it reaches the conclusion. The epilogue chapter feels out of place with the rest of the game and the themes it tries to explore remain largely underdeveloped. Still though it's a solid enough mystery overall and I wasn't bored for most of the main mystery. Tough to put this one on a recommend/don't recommend scale cause I'm pretty neutral on it, but landed on recommend cause despite everything being short, cheap and entertaining is enough of a positive to bring it over the line for me. It's very fine, hope the next game this team makes is a bit more focused and has a better translation.3 found this helpful
Play this game because of the artstyle and interesting mc too. Tbh I almost get confused when getting the endings until I manage to get them though. After I play casually and got the Joan ending instead Queenie and Sirenna. It would be best if u can play it casually and before you focused on getting Queenie and Sirenna endings. I love there's clues and bonds updated everytime you play too to understand the case. Main story could be confusing but can still be enjoyable. The routes going to the love interests are as well interesting too, by far favorite would be Queenie ( such a goddess woman... ). Sirenna's route as well is interesting too, I feel like I may relate to her... but anyway Like I said, artstyle are pretty and beautiful that's the reason why I play the game of it while alongside, I love the story and endings as well. so if you want a mystery yuri visual novel or really want a pretty and beautiful artstyle, This is for you ! ^^ ( Never regret getting this and bought this on sale too, I might play this again sometimes ! )2 found this helpful
